I Sold My Boat

I always wanted a Sea Ray 330 Sundancer and finally got one. It was a dream come true. Now I am just getting too old for it.
People always say that two of the happiest days of your life are when you buy a boat and when you sell it. That is not true for me. I am going to miss my boat.
The Missouri Waltz has been decommissioned from my navy. She spent her life at Grand Rivers, Kentucky, but is now at her new home at the Port of Louisville.
I hope the new owner enjoys her as much as I did. Fair seas and following winds.

Yet you ran to the OT to tell us all about you selling the boat. Seems like you are pretty happy.

Did you ever make sweet sweet love inside it?

Aging out of a hobby sucks.

I hope they get the saying right as well
( FWIW it's " Fair winds and following seas")

What year? I had a 2003 260 that I had many memorable times on the 15 years I owned her but there comes the time you just don’t use them as much as you used to. Now I take the $7-10k in storage/insurance/gas/maintenance costs and pour that into the 3 tropical vacations we take each year. Makes up for half the costs!!!!

I miss having a bass boat. Blew my motor on my Bass Cat after my wife had twins. It sat up for two years and I finally got rid of it. I miss the days of just fishing by myself and just running it by myself. It’s the time I felt most free in my life. It’s the times like that I miss most about not having it.
Still have my duck boat though.

Well how are you going to attract the strippers now?

I'd be devastated if I had fo sell my boat

I'd be devastated if I had to sell my boat. I love it. That whole "happiest day is when you sell it" is from non-boat people.

I've had a boat for 29 years.
I had 2 of them a couple of years ago because I bought a new one before I sold the old one. I couldn't have a gap of non-boat ownership.
The freedom it gives you to go to any lake and fish or cruise is worth every penny. Time spent with friends, I have tons of great memories in my boat.

those are really nice boats. I remember a friend in high schools parents had a Sundancer on Lake Maritn in Alabama. His dad would take me and 3-4 others out on the lake for the day and we'd spend the night on the boat somewhere on the lake. They did not have a lake house, just a giant boat that slept us all. This happened a handful of times a year from 2003-2006. Great memories with those guys and actually keep up with 95% of them to this day.

The best two days of a boat owners life.
The day they buy it.
The day they sell it.
The day they buy it.
The day they sell it.
