Cut the red line out and fry or trade em for black poon? Went out after the elusive black bass and ran into a wad of them. Pretty fun

They fry up pretty good.

Not bass or crappie but they’re good.

Cut the red out, soak in saltwater for a few hours and they eat pretty good. They sure are a blast to catch.

They (the fish) eat pretty good but if trading for poon is an option I say do that and report back.

Not an expert on black poon.
But it’s been my experience that any poon available for trade of food goods is not really worth having.
Cut all the blood out and fry them and you can’t tell the difference between them and redfish.

Throw them back. Any poon traded for fish is highly suspect.

Sand bass is good meat. Just clean out every single bit of red. Once you fillet them, you can pinch the tail end of the fillet, pinch the red and rip out a lot of it. My wife has it down to perfection.
