If so, Wildlife and Fisheries would like to know about it.

LDWF hasn’t had a confirmed sighting of this once-common species in Louisiana for more than 30 years, and we need your help!
Reports can come from:
Roadkill
Game cameras
Inadvertent fur trap catches
The eastern spotted skunk is about the size of a large gray squirrel, with:
An upside-down triangle on its forehead
Narrow white stripe beneath the eyes
Diagonal stripes across the hips and spots on the rear
A bushy tail with white underneath and at the tip
If you spot one, please report it to LDWF — every sighting helps us track and protect this rare species.

I was seeing a skunk awhile back in my yard that was solid black.I didn’t see any white on him at all.
Haven’t seen him in a few weeks.

Hell, I’ve only seen 3 live striped skunks in my life, never a spotted but hard to tell the identity of the roadkills.

Funny story, a few years back my brother and I were walking together before daylight down an old logging road to our stands and a skunk was walking right down the road in front of us. Just taking his sweet time and we had no way to get around him. Followed him for a couple hundred yards at least.

I am 60 years old and have lived most of my life in the country. Seen thousands of skunks, but never seen a spotted skunk. I would actually like to see one!

My buddy caught a couple Western spotted skunks right before I met up with them in West Texas on our summer trip. Really cute little critters.

Man, those are cool as hell! They must not be quite as prone to spray as striped skunks!
