This fire caused $250 Billion in economic damage to say nothing of the 12 people who lost their lives. There is truly no punishment harsh enough for this person if it is proven they did intentionally start this blaze.

In his defense, he probably had no idea his meth pipe was still lit.

It’s California, they’ll let him off on the property destruction and homicide , and prosecute for carbon release and climate crimes.

All he needs to do is tell them he did it for BLM and they may make a statue of him in LA.

During the announcement today, they are only charging him with the arson. Punishable with a mandatory minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years. They could probably add charges later, but seems they would already have done that in the past 9 months.

Dude created a ChatGPT pic of a city burning weeks before setting fire. He is also the one that called 911 to report it.

Federal Government could pursue the death penalty on this guy.
I'm curious what this guy has to say for himself. I'm also curious how old this guy is. (If anyone knows how to find out these details).

In Florida’s defense, he lived in Palisades CA when he committed the crimes.

You don't "lit" an oil burner. Meth is flammable, so you heat between glass.

Btw I have never smoked meth.

Today we are announcing the arrest of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht on a criminal complaint charging him with maliciously starting what became the Palisades Fire in January.

I would have had different feelings if this was some young idiot who thought it would be fun to set some leaves on fire.

Anyone has to face the consequences of their actions obviously, but I'm sure some of you would have some mixed feelings if a couple of 13-year-old kids were smoking their first cigs after school and threw the butt in the wrong spot. And next thing you know, 3 entire cities have been ravaged..

It's a dark thing to joke about on my end. RIP to the 12 who lost their lives.

It's crazy. They put the fire out that night/next day, but root systems were still hot underground for a week until winds brought it back up into the brush. Fire is crazy

They said on TV he once burned a bible and said it was liberating.

Seems like a weird loser.

Rinderknecht started the fire after finishing his shift as an Uber driver, Essayli alleged. Videos of the fire taken on his cellphone and 911 calls were among the evidence connecting Rinderknecht to the fire, Essayli said.

So what are you doing when you get off of work?

I'm thinking about burning the city down

For the rest of his life, he should be required to work sun up to sun down relentlessly rebuilding homes.
No vacation days, no sick days, no weekends.
Brute, physical labor
