Neg media attention for Lane, affecting players?

We are losing some good players from the team to the portal and missed out on QB to Tech. I know it's early, but is the neg press that Lane is getting and how they are labeling him, is this influencing players?

Oh, you got me on the idiot part, child.
It's all about the money with the portal players. Do you think that perhaps we didn't match the offer or didn't care to spend that much money on a portal QB? LSU has quite a few holes to fill and the first year under Lane can easily be considered sort of a rebuild, on the offensive side.
Money is the influencer here.

Yeah, the negative media attention probably is influencing some very weak-minded players to not only avoid LSU, but to also transfer off LSU.

What’s influencing is that he’s a fun coach to play for, always has an exciting offense, and is a players coach. That and NIL money.

A really good recruiter can likely use the negative press to his advantage and have success.
But just start winning, and turn out a few thousand yard WRs and RBs and all that mess stops.
