They aren't infallible, Sorsby was 100% to LSU until he wasn't.

Wait a minute I thought we had north of 30 million to spend on the transfer portal why are we missing out on some of the top targets?

He’s from Ohio, so they have that in their favor.

That is true. One thing helping lsu is that Ohio state will stick to their number while lsu might out bid them if they really want Coleman.

LSU has a lot of important positions to fill with that $25-$30 mill. It’s possible these other schools have a large amount available to spend as well but are able to throw more at bigger names bc they have fewer holes when it comes to starters.

$30 mil in a normal season when you only need to supplement 5-10 players will be easy. But when you have to get 25+ players that $30 mil is not nearly as much when some players are demanding $2-5 mil

Coleman was a beast against FIU but otherwise couldn't get on the field much, and this was without Abdul Carter taking up a starting spot.

Not understanding the hype. The production isnt there.

He has the length, size, and talent. With the right Coaching he can take off. Thats the hype. Braydon Swinson in 3 years only had 3 sacks but he had the talent and in year 2 with us he took off with 8.5 sacks and 13 TFLs.

Production is not everything.

That number might be capped for all teams now depending on how much teeth clearing house has.

Also, Lane's gonna have to get out there and reestablish "LSU" as a top dog.

Brian Kelly embarrassed the brand on the public stage, and because he did it at the exact same time that the game changed, it's easy for players to look at us as a "has been."

Lane needs to get a team together.. knock off some good teams next year... I mean - he took the job after the year was basically over. Now he has 2.5 weeks to fix Brian Kelly playing golf and not giving a shite .. AND getting like 13 dudes in the class?

I have faith

Trolling aside, do you people truly believe every kid wants to play for LSU?

Every school has $$, LK will have to show the brand before it truly takes off.

Quit acting like jilted school girls

When the money is close or the same, players will still fall back to many of the traditional reasons for selecting a program- close to home, relationships with staff, recent success, etc.

No those are old RPM’s. If you look at them the last one was on the 2nd. He could end up at Ohio State but these predictions are outdated

I think when you have $30m to pay out to players you have $30m regardless of whether they’re on your roster already or not. The trick is pulling the best available players when you’ve got so many spots open, especially after a coaching change. There’s so much more competition now with NIL - who ever thought we’d be competing with Texas Tech and Indiana for players. Especially when they are coming off playoff seasons vs our 7-6. You just have to rely on Kiffin’s ability and reputation and hope for a quick turnaround.

You do realize that 30 mil also goes towards retention and hs recruiting correct? Those totals weren't to be interpreted as purely for the portal. They were to cover the roster including the 50+ kids we already have in the boat. Those DL we have are expensive.
