They know Demond is gone and that bridge is burned. They will not facilitate the transfer, but there are plenty of loopholes. Interesting to see if they pursue monetary damages claim, but even they know they cant prevent him from playing elsewhere.

Tell Graves to get on the phone and see how many box combos they want

Washington isn’t going to do shite because they cant do shite.

Sue for monetary damages for money paid? Okay - LSU will pay it.

There needs to be a CBA so it cant help prevent shite like this. Look, I would be giddy as well if we land him, but imagine if he was an LSU QB and it was happening to us…

“If we can’t have Demond then no way can” attitude

I expect this process will start to move on once they sign a new qb, which in all honestly is fair they take care of themselves after getting cooked by the train

Thats exactly what I think happens. I doubt UW is pursuing “extra” money. They just want to assure they get what they gave Demond back.

Gonna be a bidding war with Miami for Demond. Better have that cash stacked and packed.

I hope all are free from the “Do not contact” tag or else that would be tampering, no?

Good luck to them claiming UW was harmed in some way by Williams leaving. Took them all of 12 hours to set up visits and make contact with plenty of replacements, including an SEC QB.

Throw in extra toast and extra sauce and that’s a done deal.

They can’t prove one player leaving cost them anything. At most, he will have to make them whole.

Oh I agree I'm just talking about the dumb national media parrots who were melting all over Twitter last night about it and how Williams was causing legally provable damage to UW by transferring at this point of the cycle.

What happens if Williams were to withdraw his request and take a redshirt year while forcing UW to pay him 4 mil not to play?

Couldn't he just wait until they sign his replacement then "change his mind" and make UW decide if they wanna pay two QBs 4+ mil?

Hypothetically he would be back in the portal with the same amount of eligibility and 4 mil in his pocket after next season.

In no way do I want this to happen because it would mean he's not playing for LSU. But it would be hilarious to watch it play out.
