Like it or not, our top three salaries are all negative assets:

^ Williamson: $ 39,446,090
^ Poole: $ 31,848,215
^ Murray: $ 30,801,103

That's $ 102,095,408 of the $154,647,000 or 66% of the 2025-26 Salary Cap.

To trade any of these players at this point would result in the Pelicans receiving pennies on the dollar in return. Nonetheless, two of the three have to go, I would cross my fingers and hold on to Murray (but what do I know).

Going forward, Queen and Fears better work out or else we are looking at seven to ten years of more of the same. Sad; but true!!!

Murray needs to start when he gets back so hopefully he can have some sort of small value.

Until Zion is off this roster, this team will continue to suck arse into infinitum.

I don't even know what our record is, nor care. And I won't until we've turned the page.

The Pels are dead men walking until we can move past the Zion era.

Or they could sign some cheap shooters like what has been needed for close to a decade and actually play to his strengths… Much better than selling for pennies on the dollar

BI was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
CJM was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW
DD was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
JV was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
SAdams was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
JJ wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship.
DG was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
JHart was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
NAW was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.
Lonzo wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship.
Jrue wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship.
JR was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW.

Now that we have gotten rid of all these 'problems' and 'malcontents' Zion Williamson has never looked better, huh?

The franchise gambled on a 'hope and a prayer' and got rid of a slew of real basketball players and we are now living the result. Should we have expected any better?

BI was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. Correct, BI didn’t fit with Zion with the coach we had

CJM was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW CJ fit like a glove with Z, I don’t know why he was traded, he wanted to be here and he fit this team

DD was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. DD is a one trick pony, very good at that trick though, and haven’t seen anyone say he doesn’t fit with Z

JV was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. He fit with Z, Willie Green refused to play him

SAdams was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. Yes, his style didn’t fit with Z, and everyone but Griffin knew it

JJ wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship. No JJ wanted a chance to compete in his final season

DG was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. DG was the problem because he sucked

JHart was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. JHart wasn’t a problem besides his attitude, not sure what you’re saying

NAW was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. NAW was a problem because he sucked while here. Whether that’s coaching or the player, dunno

Lonzo wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship. Lomzo wanted out because Griff wasn’t going to pay him 30 million a year. Right call btw

Jrue wanted out because he knew this was a sinking ship. Jrue wanted out to have a chance to compete

JR was the problem because he didn't fit with ZW. Josh Richardson? Someone that was here half a year due to being part of a throw in as trade salary?

Not sure what you’re trying to get at, but there are 3 players on this list that shot the ball the way we needed them to, and that was JJ, Lonzo and CJ. BI did have that one year. JV was a decent fit at the center spot. Everyone and their mom can tell you this team to be successful needs 4-5 high level 3 point shooters that can shoot 38-42% on 7-8 attempts per game, and you don’t have to spend a shitload of money to get them (guys like Matt Ryan).

It seems the only ones that can’t see that is everyone that gets hired in this organization, and fans that just want to find any excuse to bash Zion.

Ahhh hilarious…

No, just someone rational enough to know that you can’t blame everything on one player when the team has refused for 7 years to put the type of players around him that he needs to be successful.

Thinking this team can rebuild with Zion on the roster is simply not rational.

And if your response to that is that we don't need to rebuild, then that is definitely not rational.

Sorry buddy, you're just wrong here.

Don’t forget Aaron Nelson was the problem because Zion was fat and got hurt.

“Zion Williamson put on eight pounds of muscle in a single week last summer, reports New Orleans Pelicans president of basketball operations David Griffin.“

With apologies to your critique of DD, the Pelicans currently have the most overrated One Trick Pony in the history of the league.

In seven years, he has done nothing to expand his game...nothing, nada, nyet, zilch,

Most everybody (including my 94-year-old grandmother) knows exactly what ZW's going to do when he reverts to ISO-Zion (the only offensive game he knows or cares about), In case you are in the minority (I'm not saying you are), here's some food for thought. FLASH!!! His shot chart suggests he's going to drive left. When he does, one of three things usually happen:

1. He scores the ball (not nearly at the same rate he once did).
2. His shot is blocked. Did-J'-Know, that he is among the league leaders in having his shot blocked?
3. Because he's undersized, and has nothing else in his offensive toolbox, he's a turnover waiting to happen.

Talking about 'offensive'. I find the most offensive thing about his game is his defense. How many times have we seen his weakside defense get abused? I won't deny that he's good for one Sportscenter Play a game, but on average he's a dog...not a 'DAWG but a frickin' DOG on defense!!!

I leave you with this, if he's so great (you know, an NBA Superstar) how come his market value is virtually non-existent?

Coming out in '19 I was stoked (I bought the cheese), but after seven years of his foolishness, I've seen the light (as have 29 other NBA Front Offices).

Where did I say we don’t need to rebuild? That has never once been said by me. I did say and still say trading a player for pennies when you could rehab his value and get more is stupid.

If you would rather stay in perpetual rebuild mode, make stupid decisions just like every single one Joe has made since he took over, and the ones he is about to make.

And yes, you absolutely can rebuild with Zion on this roster. One player on your roster does not stop you from rebuilding that roster, no matter who we have we still need shooters. Queen’s slow lazy arse is going to need a bunch of shooting around him too

You can't keep Zion and rebuild. Literally impossible.

How do you not understand that?

Ah, I see why you don't get it now. You think we're in rebuild mode right now.

Queen had an injury that was supposed to keep him out until December and he came ready to play on opening day in October

Zion's been an absolute frick up train wreck on and off the court for 7 straight years and you have never called him "a lazy arse".

It's getting to be a little bit strange. You have to be related to Zion or one of his very few IRL friends to continuously come to his support and disparage every other player and coach around him as if Zion not missing 60% of our games and 100% of our playoff games hasn't been the number 1, 2, 3, and 4 issue for the Pels franchise.

They really just need to play defense. They play lazy fricking defense in my opinion. The team knows how to score.

The only thing about 3pt shooting is it is typically resistant to ref manipulation. It is hard for refs to hurt a team’s offense when the team just is a great perimeter shooting team. The refs can make a game so physical it becomes almost impossible for a team to score in the paint.

Queen and Fears aren’t sticking around a day longer than they have to in this shithole. You know it, I know it and Gayle/Dumars do as well.
