Trey is also coming into his own. Z, Trey and Queen are really starting to play well with each other.

Based on a win against the fricking Wizards without the star player they traded for?

Please don’t get false hopes for Zion. We’ve taken this lap so many times.

I’ll be my broken record. Until he expands his game, I’m not getting my hopes up.

Jesus Christ, saying this after a win over the Wizards on the heels of a 10-game losing streak is the epitome of the emotional lesbianism of this board.

How does this equate to us making the playoffs?

Zion as he currently is (and has been for his entire career) is not conductive to being the #1 guy.
1. His handles are too loose, leading to turnovers with good defenders.
2. His ability to finish at the rim is elite, but when refs swallow the whistle hard nosed defenders get the better of him.
3. He clogs the paint, leading to spacing issues and need for better 3pt shooters across the board
4. He's an undersized 4 leading to bad rebounding numbers and rebounding as a team
5. He's a mediocre defender, better help defender if anything but he's a net negative overall
I still don't understand how to construct a team with him and trey as the focal points because I think their issues overlap so much you need an elite big (who can defend and shoot) or elite guard (who can defend, shoot, and facilitate) to compensate --- neither of which we have.

We have a unique opportunity here to not be tied down by his contract. Would be very on brand if we don't take advantage of that.
