Haiti’s Interim Rulers Plot a Permanent Stay Via Beijing

snips:
Aware that their utility to the United States is expiring, Haiti’s leadership is playing a high-stakes geopolitical card. With Washington distracted by the operational demands of the post-Maduro transition in Venezuela, Port-au-Prince is quietly signaling a realignment with Beijing.
The strategy is transparent.
They intend to court Chinese investment and diplomatic cover to replace conditional Western support. By pivoting East, the CPT hopes to secure the funding necessary to survive without implementing the democratic reforms demanded by the US and CARICOM.
They are betting that a fatigued Washington will be too slow to notice the emergence of a Chinese client state on its maritime doorstep until it is too late.
For now, the US remains largely silent, maintaining the fiction of “tacit support” for a government that is actively plotting against American interests. But analysts warn that this silence is dangerous. The current leadership is counting on US inaction to solidify a dictatorship by committee.

Haiti should just be handed over to the Dominican Republic

Haiti doesn't really have anything to contribute on their side of any alliance.

My brothers in Christ, this is the most “Short Lived Haitian Dictator” decision I could imagine.
Of all the American Presidents of the last 40 years you pick 2nd term DJT to invite the Chinese into your island within air range of our bases with the carrier task forces still in the region from Venezuela?
This is the type of move only someone with a room temperature IQ determined to go room temperature quickly would attempt.
It’s like a comedy skit or something.

The Dominicans would hand them right back, they want nothing to do with them

Cuba is closer, already has a better military infrastructure, and has a historical alliance with China.

My understanding is the people in the DR don’t want anything to do with them.
All the data and history indicates that there is no helping nations which have a mean IQ below a certain threshold and Haiti is waaaaay on the wrong end of that bell curve.
You can’t help Somalia (67IQ)
You can’t help Liberia (45IQ)
And you definitely can’t help Haiti

I guarantee that Trump has no intention of allowing China to remain with a presence there either.
With the oil cut off in Venezuela the clock is ticking in Cuba and other Chinese client states in the western hemisphere.

At this point that geography isn't an advantage. It's a liability. Watch how fast Trump pummels your arse on that island if you try it Xi.

If people only knew how right you are sir.
I mean this as nicely and gently as possible, Haiti is basically a worse Africa with dudes that speak French.
Also had a great WWE wrestler at one point. He scared the shite out of me.
