The Failing New York Times…

quote:

Under a little-known Cold War agreement, the United States already enjoys sweeping military access in Greenland. Right now, the United States has one base in a very remote corner of the island. But the agreement allows it to “construct, install, maintain, and operate” military bases across Greenland, “house personnel” and “control landings, takeoffs, anchorages, moorings, movements, and operation of ships, aircraft, and waterborne craft.”

Thank God for President Trump!

Shhhhhhh.

The EU is planning a massive attack response. It should be hilarious. Let them keep thinking they are going to war.

Trump doesn't want bases, if he wanted bases the ambassador to Denmark would say "hey we want bases..." He has a buddy who is going to cut him in on mining profits.

You guys are such rubes.

I'm not sure what a "Reddit melt" is but apparently you guys have a hard on to go to war with the rest of NATO. Fantastic.

You know what it means. And spare us the histrionics. This isn’t Reddit. Trump has never stated he intends to go to war with Greenland, only that he wants to acquire it, which the US has every right to do.

And where has your outrage been while America’s enemies and rivals meddle in Greenland by attempting to establish a foothold at the most strategic point in North America’s defense? You don’t have to answer that question since we already know—you’re part of the blame America first crowd.

Them "threatening" to shut down all US bases in Europe would be a glorious and magnificent mistake on their part, and honestly, I really want it to happen

Trump literally asked for invasion plans. Do I have to link it for you?

Temu Nostradamus Miller said "might makes right" out in the open.

I get it that you guys have to ignore a lot of what the administration says or you'd pull every muscle from the mental gymnastics to explain it away, but they are pretty honest about their weird views.

Yes, post the link to a transcript of any interview, speech, remarks, phone call, etc., where President Trump stated he intends to launch an invasion Greenland.

The US has military plans for invasions of almost every country in the world. That isn’t equivalent to calling for war. Given Chinese and Russian aggression in Greenland, there’s a possibility the US might have to liberate portions of the island if we aren’t able to acquire since the Danes aren’t doing anything to protect it.

Take your inane liberal takes back to Reddit.

What evidence is there of any threatening action from China or Russia towards Greenland? Neither one of them can invade their neighbor let alone Greenland. If the US was so concerned, why has every president, including Trump, allowed the bases in Greenland to continue to dwindle in troops numbers rather than bolstering them? He doesn't have to destroy 70 years of western alliances to put troops in Greenland. As the topic states, there's a long standing agreement in place that gives the US plenty of freedom to operate openly there.

There are many instances over the past 5 years. The Chinese and Russians have been sending ice breaker ships into the Arctic to open sea lanes that would give China a direct path to US east coast. China had also been aggressively making mineral rights claims all across the arctic regions of the world.

China’s interest in Antarctica has been a consistent—and proportionate—feature of its rise as a global power. Its interest stems in part from the frozen continent’s wealth of untapped natural resources that could potentially secure Beijing’s economic prosperity well into the future. The important question for policymakers, however, is not why China has polar aspirations but how it intends to achieve them.

President Trump is thankfully attempting to curb China’s aggression in Greenland and contain to the south pole. Denmark and the rest of Europe have no desire to stop China’s aggression. Trump recognizes they cannot be relied upon when it comes Greenland.

This is the crux of nearly all leftist rhetoric, pretending to not understand things.

You do realize that Truman offered Denmark 100m for greenland back in 1946, right?? That's where the current pact stems from. Our want for it goes way way back even further.

You people act like this is some new thing, and too retarded to understand that it's not.

He said on the plane last night he doesn't not want an agreement or permission to build more stuff there. He wants the whole thing.

I think the biggest danger for Greenland is if a bunch of American lunatics decided to move up there.

It really is amazing how Trump continues to con these people.
"It's easier to fool people than to convince them they are being fooled."
