It means even the casual observer is concerned with the state of the program. And that means a change is imminent.

When losing is expected even when you're up 20, that's a problem.

I've been concerned about the state of the basketball program for a long time. But I have pretty much entirely stopped posting about said program, because I don't like repeating the same points over and over. There just isn't much else to say about it. Until there is change in leadership, the results aren't likely to surprise me one way or another. It's just always the same.

Many of us want it to succeed especially considering other sports are very competitive across the board. MBB is kicking but in OOC each year but gets killed in SEC play. It’s maddening that we cannot get slightly better even with a slightly better roster and we cannot compete/win in the SEC games.

We have a basketball program with history, it sucks to see programs like Bama or Auburn be relevant now.

There isn't any renewed interest. It just gives the tards something to bitch about. Not one of them will by season tickets even if they fire the coach. Just miserable bitches.

I don’t even follow basketball much at all and even I’m sick of seeing or hearing about LSU looking good through their pre conference schedule just to look like dog shite when conference play starts every year under McFraud.

I had the game on with some friends that are not sports fans for that matter. It was mainly background noise while catching up.

I explained to them we fully expect to lose no matter the elusive and rare lead and sure enough their first time watching LSU basketball delivered

All you can do is laugh at this point.

I've been fooled by McMahon too many times, and honestly, it's my own fault for wanting LSU Basketball to be successful, I fall for it every year. This team should be 2-2 in SEC play with or without a missing player or two. I know all of the excuses, hell, I've perpetuated all of them, but the guy just isn't it. It's time to get a real coach. WBB is winning nattys, Gymnastics is winning nattys, baseball is winning nattys. Soccer is making in rounds into the tournament. We cut the dead weight in football, it's time to do the same in basketball, and there'll be a decision to make on Torina a fee months from now most likely too. LSU should be a heavy post-season contender in every sport. If it's not happening, it's on the coaches. The money is there. The fan support just needs a reason to show up. Just need wins.

So you thought we would figure out a way to lose also.
Sometimes a loss, an ugly loss, is what catapults a team to make a waaay overdue change. Maybe that shot, that non call by the referee, those missed FT's, that loss is what was necessary for LSU to make the inevitable change.....sooner.

We've reached the absolute rock bottom! We're at apathy with the fanbase! And because the administration let it get this bad, the next guy up is gonna have a tough time getting the fans support and/or patience! They've set the expectations for the program so low that no one really even cares anymore at this point!

It's been McMahon his whole career here. You can give some passes early on with what he inherited, but this day in NIL age and the transfer portal there's no excuses to not have a somewhat competitive team on the floor if you have decent backing from the university. And I think we have some solid athletes, but reality is they are not being coached up and it's extremely obvious in games like this.

That's because LSU was really the first school that lost (nearly) all of its roster due to a coaching change. At the time it seemed like a massive outlier. But if you paid attention to college basketball THAT SAME OFFSEASON you saw losing almost all of a roster due to a coaching change was the new norm. And it has been that way for 4 years. McMahon hasn't faced any massive hurdles any other new HC has had to deal with. But for whatever reason, contrarianism, sympathy, ignorance of basketball and the college basketball marketplace at large, etc, many fans (or at least a vocal minority) have bent over backwards to give him more grace/leeway than any other LSU coach in arguably the last 50 years...if not more.

It's truly shocking he is still here. He must be a great negotiator with LSU lol

The interest has always been there but we haven't had anything to cheer about since McBoredom got here.

Bring in a coach who knows his arse from a hole in the ground and I promise you the interest will return.

This team has been competitive in every SEC game thus far. They may have had large deficits in two of the games due to a bad stretch but that was offset by long positive stretches where they were within a couple of possessions. This seems to be the nature of the SEC this year with very little to separate about a dozen teams. Its absurd to claim the losses of Dedan Thomas and Jalen Reed are not relevant. Its very likely they would have won all four SEC games or at worse would be 3-1 in league play. Remove Oweh from Kentucky, Meechie from South Carolina and Tanner from Vandy and the Tigers win all three games.

MBB is tho only in non-competitive sport @ LSU. not sure about casual interest because….its still basketball. However, something will be done after this season.

Kentucky was missing their PG. If this was 3 years ago I'd be more sympathetic. This is the fourth straight year of terrible basketball. Should we have given BK a pass this season because Nuss got injured? BK sucked and still had lightyears more success at LSU than MM.

I thought they had a chance to make the tourney this year & then we lost Reed + our star player / leading scorer to open conference play.

This dude just never seems to catch a break. This year is likely the nail in the McCoffin regardless.

You need at least one successful year to build on & it has just been flop after flop. I think Trey Hannibal was our best rebounder on his best team lol.
