Haven’t heard his name since LSU. Crazy to to think he would be NFL DC few years after the LSU gig….He did get caught in a bad rap in that one season.

That defensive performance against Bryce Young and Bama was a thing of beauty. Not sure if that was Baker’s doing, but I’ll give Daronte credit there. That defense ended up pretty salty as the season wore on.

Just because he’s interviewing doesn’t mean he’s qualified for the job. It may be that they’re simply checking a certain box.

Meteroric rise. He was head coach at Jeanerete High School less than 10 years ago.

With the exception of his year at LSU, he’s been coaching in the NFL since 2016. The 10 years before that was mostly college gigs. He was at Jeanerette in the early 00s

That was, believe it or not, a Kiffin thing. He told Oergeron after the LSU-Ole Miss game (game before the Alabama game) why didn't he play a 4-3 front more instead of the usual 4-2 front on defense. LSU switched to the 4-3 for the Bama game and stifled Bryce Young. If LSU had a slightly competent offense, they could have pulled off the upset.

The fascination this site has with this guy is weird. The only time he has ever been a DC was one year at LSU. Even then the D was dog shite until Kiffin told O that they were too predictable and needed to blitz. The only reason they performed so well against Bama was they caught them off guard and was doing things they haven't done all year and just threw caution to the wind blitzed the shite out of them. This wasn't even something he the DC came up with. It took Kiffin telling O and O stepping in and helping Jones. If this guy is so great why has no else been interested in him as a DC?

Once Coach O got out of his way after the Ole Miss game the defense was far more improved…

Dude, this happened only 4 years ago. You're acting like it's been 10 years. He's finally got Minnesota's pass defense up to snuff finishing #1 in the NFL. That pass defense over the last 6 games had been crazy. His pass defense had carrying that Vikings team. McCarthy is so arse, that offense is so arse.

Minnesota needed to fire their GM yesterday. That guy is pure trash. They let Darnold walk. Hell, Daniel Jones was playing well before he got hurt, and they had him there last year. All that for McCarthy to play like dog shite with one of the best receivers in the league.
