Landry had nothing to do with any of this lol. Woodward fired Kelly. Landry was mad he wasn’t involved. He then (intentionally?) misunderstood the situation and made it all about him.

Jeff Landry is from St. Martinville, and his wife is from New Iberia. I don't think either has ever lived in Lafayette.

Even if you hate Landry, you really can’t believe that - do you?
There is a decent chance that both Woodward and BK would still be here.
Woodward only fired BK in an attempt to save his own arse.
He had pressure (and from more than just the boosters).
No Landry = no Lane.
Despite horrendous past flops (Temu Tiger etc.) by Landry, he deserves a lot of credit here.

Woodward was being replaced regardless before the Kelly firing.
The governor got involved because of the large buyout and didn’t want taxpayer dollars used for that. I don’t blame him. Private donors paid off the buyout.

Absolutely not true.
Regardless of your opinions of any given governor they hold a lot of power and can persuade big money people more so than an athletic director or coach can. He was absolutely very influential in rallying the moneys necessary to do what we are doing.
