I think there is a good possibility somewhere around 5 or 6.

Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and Georgia very likely ahead of us.

I think we could slot in as high as 5.

Baseball was 1 or 2 depending on the poll.

Preseason polls are dumb and should be abolished

Who cares…There is nothing more irrelevant. We were preseason 5 last year.

Last time we won the championship we started out at 6

So I’ll go with #6

I notice you don’t have Indiana in your top 5. I was wondering what their team would look like next year and how they would do. They’re probably the toughest team to read going into next year but they’ll be really good because of their coach.

2025 AP Preseason poll had
Penn State 2
Clemson 4
LSU 9
South Carolina 13
Florida 15
Indiana 20

It would seem that a blind monkey throwing darts at a list
could do just as well.

Yeah, LSU was ranked high last preseason, as was Clemson, and that definitely didn’t turn out to be an accurate gage for either team. Especially with all the portal additions and subtractions, in today’s football landscape, it’s pretty difficult to assess a particular team’s strength and potential performance until a few games have been played. I guess it makes for good conjecture and gives sports writers and commentators something to do.

I’m only interested in their final standing at the end of the season.

You know Notre Dame gonna be top 5 with their bs schedule. But Texas Tech, Oklahoma, A&M and A Chambliss Ole Piss all get ranked right around of us or right ahead of us I would think.

considering they’ll win the title and ON3 transfer portal rankings have them ranked #1 in roster replacement I guarantee they’ll be ranked top 5 preseason with that coach

Not sure what media will say, but this considering on field talent, depth talent and coaching talent, this team is top 2.

Here are a few things to consider:
* Last year LSU had the best transfer class in the country and Brian Kelly said he was ready to compete for championships. The Tigers were ranked eighth in the preseason poll and third after the Clemson win. They lost six of their last nine games and finished well outside of the Top 25.

* Fourteen of the 18 players in that transfer class will not be back for a second season in Baton Rouge. A total of 60 players off the 2025 roster are gone.

The transfer portal and NIL have fragmented college football. Most transfers are disgruntled where they are or are chasing the money. Will we have a new cast of strangers take the field each season?

A great coaching staff can pull together the pieces and succeed. Indiana has just seven four-star and no five-star players and is dominating the power houses of college football. It can be done but Kelly and crew certainly were unable to come close. Maybe Kiffin and his staff can pull it off.

ND, Miami (if they get Mensah), and Indiana will all be ranked ahead of us, and potentially Ole Miss if Chambliss's lawsuit works out.

We'll be ranked somewhere 8 to 12 around Texas A&M, USCw.

Agree we should be top 5 but preseason polls are shite.
