Never had any desire to watch this show but watched the S3 trailer and it looked pretty good so gave it a shot.
The amount of dicks is kind of baffling. I've never fast forwarded so much of a show in my life.
I never watched because I heard it was basically just high schoolers doing a ton of drugs and it had no appeal to me. It certainly is high schoolers doing a lot of drugs but definitely a lot deeper of a story than I was expecting.
I don't think I've ever watched a show with this many totally F'd up and horrible people. Lexi (Sydney Sweeney's younger sister) is the only decent main character and Ali (Zendaya's sponsor) and Rue's mom and sister are the only decent side characters. Pretty much everyone else are awful humans. Fez is arguably the best character but being a big drug dealer, theif, and covering up murders kind of takes him out of the "decent person" argument.
But it's a train wreck that was hard to turn off. Watching 16 episodes in two weeks is about as fast as I can watch something. Though fast forwarding trans and dicks stuff cuts down on the run time a bit and probably miss some semi important narration.
I never got the extreme love or extreme hate for Zendaya but she is pretty incredible in this. Top tier young female acting. She really kills it.
Didn't realize until the Season 3 trailer thread that the actor who played Fez died. Not making light of it but kind of ironic that he died from legit all of the drugs he was dealing in the show. Sad. He was probably my favorite character in the show.
Anyway, glad I waited to watch, similar to waiting to watch Stranger Things, this is way too long in between seasons. April 12th is the S3 premiere, over four years since S2

Watched that last night. Was the one time where I was legit LOL'ing numerous times. The gay football player workout montage was freaking hilarious.

Your high school didn’t have a theater budget rivaling a Marvel movie?
I like the show because it’s the Gen Z version of Skins. Coincidentally that show also had an over the top play, but theirs was about 9/11.

It's actually a pretty well written and interesting show, specifically around addiction and recovery. You just have to leave your morals and reality at the door. That being said, season 1 was lightyears better than season 2.
It's pretty crazy they had at least three legit world-class movie stars on the show and managed to get them back for a third season. Colman Domingo is also a star, but not sure if he's back for season 3.

Yea the writing is very solid. Surprised the dude also wrote The Idol given how awful it was. One of the lowest rated HBO shows ever.

Seriously. Some rough stuff in here, and like I say, I fast forwarded more than I ever have before. Some stuff I just don’t want to see. But the overall story and characters are compelling.

I have to disagree. I liked season 2 a decent amount better Just looking at episode ratings, S2 overall has higher ratings on average and the highest rated single episode. I didn’t think either was light years better than the other but I think I like S2 just a little better.

It's an all time trashy gen z tv show. The only redeeming quality is sydney nudity.

Neither did I, but the missus loved it so I figured I'd give it a shot before S3 starts... I'm not really sure what I thought it would be, but its definitely much better than I thought..
I think it would have been nuts coming of age in the modern world, compared to the 80s..
