looking for crab boiling tips

I'm in San Francisco for a while. Their Dungeness crab season just started and I'm inclined to do a crab boil for the Super Bowl. Looking for any tricks or processes that would work best for boiling these types of crabs with our seasonings. Thanks in advance

First, boil you some water…

They are already cooked so heat them in seasoned water until they are hot. That’s about it. Since they won’t soak up all of the new seasoning, people dust them after.

Yeah they aren’t gonna soak up a whole lot of seasoning. Maybe better to make some type of spiced butter to dip the meat in.

If they are already cooked, just boil them any other way you would crabs but only until they are heated.
If I were you, I would just do a pot of boiling water with some liquid crab boil or just steam them for about 5 mins with a bunch of JO's or Old Bay.

Are you under the impression that dungeness crabs absorb MORE seasoning than blue crabs?
What kind of answers would you consider helpful?

OP, I would boil them like you would live crabs in LA. Season your water well. I'm sure you could find some type of creole seasoning. Use a 1/2 cup to a gallon of water of that, boil them till they float and soak them till they sink.

Keep in mind the crabs he's talking about cooking are already boiled. This is why he's not getting the answers he wants. He's looking for people to tell him how to cook boiled dungeness crab like we would boil raw blue crab and he doesn't like what he's hearing.
This is also why all these juicy seafood places dust them after steaming/heating them.

It would help if he told us whether they are live or steamed.

Buy some shrimp and crawfish instead.

Boil raw Dungeness crab legs in a large pot of heavily salted water (resembling seawater) for 10–12 minutes, or until bright orange and an internal temperature of 145°F is reached. For best results, immediately plunge the cooked legs into an ice bath to stop the cooking process, ensuring the meat remains tender.
That was a AI response from Google. Seems like it would work. And those crabs have a lot of legs so you could try one and adjust your seasoning as necessary.

If Alive you need to know how to kill them humanly, and take the shell off cut in half the body. The meat is firmer and last longer than blue crabs. I would boil and soak them with LA seasoning. let them soak 15 mins.
Add some lemon pepper/butter/parsley mix on outside or dust them if people like that.
