Just thinking about some of the playoff losses he had. The Seattle game where Lynch went beast mode. That San Fran loss that we should have won. The Nola non call, the lucky arse Minnesota win. And now you have a situation where he loses his starting qb and would have been a shoe in to get to the Super Bowl. He was very bad luck.

can't have the worst playoff luck of all time when your team pulled off an onside kick in the SB and won.

I still think the craziest part about that play is the Colts had a WR on the KR team and we kicked the onside kick right to him and he fricked up.

A lot of people believed that if he would have been more Run heavy in many games Saints would have been in a different position.

He also had the chance to get trade and get Marshon Lynch from buffalo. But turned it down feeling the draft pick was too high, instead he would go onto Seattle where he would find enormous success.

He always played to kill and left time on the clock for his opponent to score. Saints always found a way to score in the last 1:30 left in the game, but would always leave time on the clock. Dude played to win the game. But also left time on the clock.

When you say that, there is a corrleation to it.

There is a price to pay if you use a voodoo priestess to win a Superbowl

This x 100.

The No-Call was dogshit, but that game could've been put away had SP been ready for a fake punt. I mean, it was glaringly obvious to the point I called it before the play, as I'm sure many of you did too. You'd think he of all people would be thinking about it. The 9ers game still pisses me off to no end because of the head hunting on PT. What pisses me off more is the shite Saints D that kept the best offense ever from winning a SB. And that's on SP as the HC for continuing to think of one side of the ball. It goes on and on, but Denver got a nasty taste of his arrogance in the AFCCG.

Answer: NO, but it's still quite bad.

He definitely gets cute with his play calling and shoots himself in the foot. We have seen it many times when he was the saints coach. I blame the onside kick in the Super Bowl for that. Now he thinks every play will break his way

Yep, PT went limp dropped the ball then got ragged and tagged in that pile for the football.

This is the real, tragedy. They blew the Giants out Earlier in the Season.
Then would be on to the Pats. They would have curb stomped each one.

Drew and Sean should have made three SB appearances at minimum.

Evidence of his hubris is in the way he often unconsciously speaks down to the media. He begins statements that are not answers to confrontational questions with the smartass “Look….”

It’s deprecating to the other party.

Maybe purposefully mean-spirited too, maybe not.

But the takeaway is that they’re a dummy and/or not his peer.

Not only that but if you remember, Lattimore got hurt at the end of that game allowing them to go down the field easily that last drive. He was actually playing up to his level before that.

No, he is a good coach but not the genius that some think he is. People forget that he would at times get completely pass happy and forget the run-pass balance. It is not bad luck when you lose to SF on the road. Yeah I know Pierre Thomas was knocked out on a tageting no call. But the defense still gave up 36 points. Against Seattle they gave up 41 points. Alot of the playoff losses can be pointed at the defense. His playoff record with the Saints was 9-8 and over all 10-10.

I don’t understand why people care about that one so much.

Minnesota would have won anyway without that play. They were kicking our asses up and down the field that day in January 2020. Sean Payton’s team didn’t show up that day.

The Minneapolis Miracle was actually heartbreaking on the other hand, because it was definitely a Saints win and a trip to the NFC championship game if that one play didn’t happen.

Yeah. he was lucky to win those two playoff games to get to Super Bowl. That was during the bounty season where they murdered Favre with late hits in championship game. Kick winning FG and Minn has no possession after; rule changed after that, Yeah, he was lucky.
