I saw a little snippet of it yesterday and it's weird as hell. The cops were basically telling them this is the type of stuff that gets frats shut down and all they could say was basically "it doesn't matter cause house daddy."

Were they captive? Were they allowed to leave if they chose?
It's certainly OK to think hazing is idiotic, because it is. But I never understood the legal aspect. If adults choose to go through humiliation rituals, why should they not be allowed?

The appeal is short term sacrifice for earning a place and it’s done in a multitude of circumstances like sports, military or even just normal peer groups, e.g., hassling and pranking the new guy. It’s just that here it is seen in a relatively extreme case.

That’s on the actives and not the pledges.
The pledges obviously thought everything was a part of the ritual and actives fricking with them.
