Al Pacino is 85 years old.

What role is he gonna play?

I read the book it's based on. It's damn good. I was skeptical, but the story is as solid as they come.

There's a reason Michael Mann said he needed like $250M to make Heat 2.

The cast will probably cost half that.

And yes, it's real.

Cast speculation:

Leonardo DiCaprio: Confirmed to star; rumored for Chris Shiherlis (younger/continuing the Val Kilmer role from the original, as Shiherlis survives and his story extends post-1995).

Christian Bale: Confirmed (he personally told a reporter: "I'll be back in Chicago soon for HEAT 2"); role undisclosed, but speculation includes a younger Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino's detective), a lead antagonist, or another pivotal character.

Adam Driver: Rumored/attached for a younger Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro's original role, focused in the prequel timeline).

Austin Butler: Rumored for Chris Shiherlis (competing rumor with DiCaprio in some reports; he's been coy but linked strongly).

Al Pacino: Rumored to return as Vincent Hanna (possibly with de-aging for post-1995 scenes).

Ana de Armas: Rumored for Elisa (McCauley's love interest from the novel, or a key female lead).

Bradley Cooper: Rumored for a key/major role (details unspecified).

Stephen Graham: Rumored/in talks for a significant part (possibly tied to crime elements or Otis Wardell).

Jeremy Allen White and Channing Tatum: Rumored/actvely pursuing roles (speculated as supporting crew members, antagonists, or similar).

I would assume an older version of the character her played in Heat?

Is there any info out there around the plot for this?

Would be cool to have a prequel, but that kind of takes out Pacino being in it.

I’ve read it’s a non linear timeline with prequel and sequel storylines.

Cannot fricking wait.

I love the idea of Butler as young shiherlis. Can’t wait to see who plays Wardell. Graham looks how I envisioned him.

You won't be disappointed. I was doubtful that it'd be any good, but damned if it wasn't an absolute page turner.

Excited for this one. I hope Pacino just has a very small role. He’s a legend but Father Time is undefeated.
