We're pretty lucky they weren't the Taliban/ISIL type that blew up their history. There's a ton of cool ancient stuff there and some great architecture. Plenty of people traveled there on other passports.

Sorry, but Iran is never going to be “Liberated”. We may kick the current regime out (and theres a chance we’ll fail at that because of our “no boots on the ground” pledge), but despite what you see on TV, there’s still a huge amount of the population that are die-hard Islamists. They’re going to be a part of any government that follows. And Gulf Arab states are about to enter the war, almost certainly to help prevent Iran from becoming too Westernized. The Saudis have confirmed that they’re sending troops. Do you honestly think a Wahhabist government is going to assist in removing veils? No.

Hopefully the regime change brings liberation. American forced regime changes don’t exactly have a great track record of improving countries.
