Why is the “tiki” aesthetic so enduring

The first tiki bars I believe started cropping up in 1930s Los Angeles. But it has endured since then to spread across America and now good chances are if your in a city of any decent size, there will be at least one tiki bar.
Curious for people’s thoughts.

I think the converging ideas of the balmy south pacific, girls in bikinis, alcohol, music, and fire sounds like a pretty good time.

It's EZ to spell. Imagine 'Machinations' bars... Or 'chrysanthemum' bars...

Donn Beach (born Ernest Raymond Gantt; February 22, 1907 – June 7, 1989) was an American adventurer, businessman, and World War II veteran who was the "founding father" of tiki culture. He is known for opening the first prototypical tiki bar, Don’s Beachcomber, during the 1930s in Hollywood, California, which was expanded to a chain of dozens of restaurants throughout the United States. He later built the International Market Place and additional establishments in what was then the Territory of Hawaii.

The Golden Tiki Las Vegas is very cool.
Got lit up there the night before Christmas Eve last year, the drinks are STRONG.
They had a Live Surf Rock Band that night, the place was packed
