Maybe it is talent. I keep trying to stay positive, and say it’s early, but they don’t look good. It’s not the losses, it’s how bad they lose.

It is leadership. Nick Saban use to about this all the time. He said he had players who were role players during the championship and were now starters who did not see or understand how hard the starters had to work to win the championship and thought that winning again would be easy.
How many starters from last years team do we have? Milam? Curriel?
We have a ton of talented transfers who don't understand what it means to be a LSU Tiger baseball player. Plus we are in a Hell of a team hitting slump.

Agree 100%... there is no player leadership on this team, which adds to the poor pitching, hitting, and fielding. And... perhaps too many transfers aren't SEC caliber, plus capable frosh are sitting on the bench.

The talent is there, its the hitting approach. Too many first pitch swinging pop ups, not working deeper into the count, swinging at bad pitches, trying to hit 5 run HRs. Jay said this earlier and ive been noticing it since. Previous teams were great at running up pitch counts, getting the starter out, and then pouncing on the middle relief. More of a team work mentality that paid off in wins. This team hasnt learned to do that yet.
Also he's been trying a lot of guys on the mound that wont see the field in meaningful games.

So do you think we have less talent than Sac St., ULL, Norwestern and McNeese? I think we beat better teams earlier.
I think there is enough talent, maybe not to win the whole thing but to at least make it to Omaha.
