Would you support 51 statehood if Alberta wanted to join?

Yes or No

I’d rather a trade. Canada can have Minnesota in order for us to make salary cap room for Alberta.
Don’t see the need to create an extra roster spot.

Territory - Yes
Statehood - no, not at this time.
Statehood - no, not at this time.

Yes, but only if we can replace a state thus keeping the number of states at 50. I vote to get rid of California or Minnesota.

They won’t even get independence. Forever Canada got 450,000 signatures and that still wasn’t successful.

Correct Answer. Most Alberta are good people. But 50 states is a nice round number already.
Trump should also be stirring this pot heavily. Make the Canadian government sweat a little.

No . They’d likely give us two democratic senators

Statehood debate and acrimony would be enormous! Dems would be apoplectic. So there’s that…

Are you sure? It was my understanding that Alberta was the most American, most conservative province. Oil and ranching based economy sick of paying more into the federal pot than they get back. I think most other provinces would vote for Dems in a union, but Alberta is supposed to be the exception (maybe alongside Saskatchewan).

Why does the Alberta topic pop up every 3-4 months on here?

Yes. Decent chance they would vote similar to Montana, I think you get two GOP senators out of there. They also have a ton of resources and if they break away they would accelerate the downfall of the rest of Canada.
