The liberal progressive cannot absorb this. Because if they admit the people they championed are evil, then their entire worldview shatters — and with it, their self-image as a good person. Phillips puts it bluntly: “If they admit that is the case, the cause they have supported as representing goodness is shown to be evil. And what does that make them? It makes them evil." That’s the real terror — not what Hamas did, but what their support for Hamas says about them.

There's a book I read a while back that talks about the political views of conservatives, libertarians, and conservatives.
Libs see the world through the "oppressor vs. oppressed" mindset. What's wild is that they don't even realize that they are told who are the "oppressed" and who are the "oppressors". See all those protests for Palestinians? Where were they for the insanity going on in African countries where innocent Christians are being slaughtered? MSM and Soros didn't tell them to jump, so they don't jump.

That cuts to the core, TT. The self delusional folk with skin in the game will flee it like the plague.
That empathy, compassion and altruism becomes a matter of selfishness in the minds of many who fight for the underdog in the name of love, hearkens to the Biblical lore of Lucifer appearing as an “angel of light (love)”. No different than some person becoming a ‘spiritual leader’ as a means of their own personal aggrandizement. Wolves in sheep’s clothing as it were. Or just misguided and ignorant people looking for salvation and prosperity.
“Behold, there is a way that seemeth right into man, but the end thereof is destruction “. Mercy must come with Qualifications annd a personal commitment to fix the conditions upon which the need for mercy is derived. Otherwise it becomes a psychological mechanism which harms both the lender and receiver of said mercy.
Albeit since this psychological scenario is a personal ‘ego’-based condition it is highly likely that neither the overtly evil offenders or their well intentioned saviors will be able to overcome their ego-induced, self delusion and successfully accomplish their intended goals. Like the Good Bbik says “the blind leading the blind and both go into the ditch”.
Fascinating but painful. Humanity moving up the hard way. We’ll get there some day.

Covering, for the sake of their reputation of supporting what everyone else in the world already knew -- 'No Arab States want the Palestinians', never have. I have seen that previously- it’s a shame that not a single white lady illiberal will ever take a few minutes to listen and test their assumptions. I’ve never met an illiberal woman with the patience or discipline to understand their own psychological assumptions re politics- because normally- they are lazy, lack the strong identities necessary to challenge their own beliefs or have personality disorders/are high conflict. Give a Progressive woman a challenge to read or listen to something like that with fresh ears and you’ll wait a lifetime. They just know they are good people and therefore their view are good. The end.

Combine that with an ever increasing percentage of the population who have no spirituality or a bastardized, corrupted version of Christianity and you have a recipe for a rotted out society championing self destructive causes.
