How much water in pot for crawfish boil - 100qt

I just got a 100 qt pot and have yet to boil in it. Have used 60/80 qt in the past.
Am doing 2 sacks on Sunday for the family but want to get an idea of how much water to put in if I’m cooking 1 sack at a time.
When using 60/80 qt pots I’ve filled roughly 2/3 the way full, but I feel like that would be too much for 1 sack at a time in a 100 qt
Thoughts?

Around 55 to 60 percent full. How tight does your basket fit the pot?

If you lose the basket and use a net to scoop out the cooked crawfish you may be able to fit 2 sacks in there depending on the sack size.

Sometimes you just have to try to learn. Fill it up 60% and see what happens.

I’ve always used my dad’s 5th hole method. On the basket, we have 9 rows of holes, and we fill up to the 5th, so pretty much half way full. Then we introduce seasonings, liquid crab boil, veggies, etc…

foolproof method since all pots have different circumferences and volume dimensions
add desired amount of live crawfish to basket (1 sack, 2 sacks )
place basket of crawfish in pot
fill pot with water until 1-2" above crawfish
remove basket of crawfish
the water level in the pot is your fill line.
make a witness mark on your paddle
or ... place the empty basket back into pot with water
see the water line level on the strainer holes in side of basket

I’ve got that style for my 90 quart. Dates back to ‘85.
