Do you understand that they will forever hold the straight of Hormuz as leverage and at a moment’s notice your gas prices can and will go up multiple times in the future at the drop of a hat?

Does Oman have any say in this because they are on the other coastline?

Iran never used the Strait as leverage until Israel and Trump forced them to.

They are basically asking the US to leave the Middle East. Which we won’t do because of the petrodollar. The US unfortunately is in a tough spot. Either go full out war or have the dollar collapse

Iran is letting many ships go through the straight. Countries are just doing deals with Iran directly and bypassing the US/Trump.

And they are bypassing the dollar as well, taking payments in Chinese yuan.

Sounds like something a pragmatist would ask

Maybe.

But what I also realize is that in order to ensure the next regime is friendly to America, American taxpayers are going to be on the hook for the rebuild. Otherwise, it's just gonna be "death to America" all over again, and probably worse.

You guys who are giddy about blowing up bridges and power plants..let's see how you feel when you get the bill for the rebuild.

There's a lot of oil under Iran.

Well…that phrase is very non-specific, yes?

Israel and Trump forced them to develop a nuclear program and ballistic missile program?

Good point

But it's not something that is a commonly recurring event

I’d rather deal with it now than for another 50 years of conflict that sparks every few years. It is not sustainable long term.

Agreed and you're right to ask for clarity

1987-1988 during the tanker war Iran mined the straits of Hormuz.

They have threatened to close it numerous times.

They have the geographical advantage.

Any “deal” must recognize they have the ability, and I argue the right, to control it. It’s not fair, but they are in position for this.

America has several advantages that are tied to nothing else but our geography.
