1. The B-52H Stratofortress (Top Image)
That's the big eight-engined "BUFF." It's likely loaded with AGM-86C CALCM cruise missiles. These allow the U.S. to hit Iranian targets from hundreds of miles away without actually entering their airspace. It’s the ultimate "stand-off" weapon for taking out hardened infrastructure and command centres.
2. The KC-46 Pegasus and F-15E Strike Eagles (Middle Image)
The big one is the tanker (the "gas station in the sky"). The smaller, sleek jets flanking it are F-15E Strike Eagles from the 48th Fighter Wing out of Lakenheath. Since an F-15E from the 494th was just downed on April 3, these guys are likely carrying SDBs (Small Diameter Bombs) and HARM missiles specifically designed to sniff out and destroy the Iranian radar and SAM sites that took their buddy down.
3. The B-1B Lancer (Bottom Image)
That's the "Bone." It’s a supersonic bomber that can carry a massive internal payload. It’s almost certainly packed with GBU-31 JDAMs (satellite-guided bombs). Because of its speed, it’s used for "time-sensitive" strikes—basically hitting mobile missile launchers or IRGC leadership targets before they can move.
The Context
With 21 bombers currently staged at RAF Fairford, this is the largest surge in the region's history. These planes aren't just patrolling; they are part of a massive strike package intended to dismantle the remaining Iranian air defences following the recent rescue of the downed American airmen.
When "BigGreenTiger" says "Show time," he’s right—this level of hardware moving at once usually means a coordinated strike on Tehran’s "red lines" is only hours away.

We aren’t keeping long-ranged bombers in England to protect England….

I don’t know if this true since the OP didn’t provide any additional info.
But the timeline checks out for an 8pm destruction of a civilization.

Oh, yeah we were. Along with the rest of Northern Europe.

“Were” - correct
“Are” not correct.
This isn’t 1946
And long-ranged bombers do not possess the ability to protect anything. That isn’t their purpose.

Would you rather have to fight this fight with a nuclear armed Iran?

We may finally see shock and awe. 2003 was not an example despite that term being popularized then.

Bro, I’ve been doing my damndest to talk you off the ledge.
This IS NOT a war. Only Congress can declare war.
And FTR, I have never called you a fig.
I may have called you sexually ambiguous and socially awkward. But those are honest observations and not “name calling”.
