The condition of the Royal Navy is absolutely laughable at this point

Down to 1 lone destroyer and it’s broke down yet again
Queen Elizabeth, Nelson, and Drake must be rolling in their graves over the state of the Royal Navy at this point. IMO, they’ve not been the same since they lost the Hood, but boy is this an embarrassment for the once proud British Navy. From ruling the waves to can’t get their single destroyer out of port.

In the latest saga involving HMS Dragon, the Type 45 destroyer that was sent to the warzone weeks after the fighting began is having to pull out.
The Daily Mail learned late last week that the warship was suffering issues with its water supplies affecting provisions to its sailors. The Ministry of Defence denied the claims but today admitted that HMS has sailed to a safe berth to undergo repairs.
The stop will include attending to what officials described as 'a minor technical issue with onboard water systems'.
Defence sources insisted the crew have had access to water and catering and that a logistics stop at 'approximately this point in her deployment' had been planned in advance.
HMS Dragon had been despatched to protect Britain's air bases in Cyprus, including RAF Akrotiri which was hit by a drone thought to be launched by Iranian proxy group Hezbollah in Lebanon on March 2.
A day after the attack, Keir Starmer announced the deployment of HMS Dragon - but it was a further week until the vessel left Portsmouth after a scramble to get it ready.
Sir Keir has faced significant backlash for the country's lack of preparedness for war amid the escalating conflict with US President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth having repeatedly mocked the Royal Navy.
President Trump has described the UK's aircraft carriers as 'toys' while Hegseth talked about the failure of the 'Big Bad Royal Navy' to enter the Strait of Hormuz.

We are their Navy now
All of Europe depends on us and we get nothing in return

It's sad that these so called "enlightened" Europeans somehow think that war will never be waged on them ever again. If Russian and China teamed up, Europe would be theirs easily if we didn't step in.

time to let these Woke Muslim lovers to fend for themselves. We need to get out of NATO let them defend themselves against China, Russia and the Middle East.

I bet they are still keeping up some of their traditions though. Rum, sodomy, and the lash.

We should frick them up too. I’m only halfway joking. They have zero appreciation for the freedoms they afford… or think they afford

They don't even have any yachts left in HMN. Those were all impounded at Epstein Island and are subject to seizure...

They have 6 in total and this is the only destroyer that’s semi functioning.
It’s really really bad.

The good news is the Muslims won't have reliable military equipment when they finally take complete control

Just like their automobiles

Why do they need a Navy when they have ours?
Posted on 4/7/26 at 10:32 pm to Mike da Tigah
The studies show that the British Navy needs at this time, 2 Fleet Carriers (not the 2 junk carriers they have), and 32 frigates, destroyer types, this is not counting the support ships and far more subs than they have at this time.

The state of the RN is terrible, but Dragon is not their only destroyer. Dumb clickbait.
And their shipbuilding and fleet planning is way ahead of ours, since our shipbuilding amounts to printing more Burkes. The Brits are about to add a couple destroyers and frigates a year for the next decade.

What’s the problem with the QE’s? They’re just fine for what they’re meant to be.
The RN (or any NATO Navy outside of the French) isn’t designed for truly independent power projection to begin with. Post-Cold War it is built and organized to compliment and cooperate alongside the US Navy.

Indefatigable
They are designed for a limited warfare role in combat, not a fleet carrier to project power worldwide in a major armed conflict, this is what their own studied showed on the limited usage,
This does not even factor the lack of escorts and support ships needed in a conflict far from home.
Britan still has colonies and allies worldwide that will need support in a war and has no real ability to provide that support.
The need for fewer admirals is the first issue, 2 pre ship in the royal navy, put money in force factor over desk jobs.
The main issue is still a major lack of power to be used in any conflict that could and will come up in the future.
And Britian better start looking at what the Chinese are doing with their merchant shipping and act like they (Britian) have a history as a world sea power and not a back yard Navy depended on the US.
Japan is doing a far better job on what the needs will be 20 years down the road and know they have to watch the Chinese closely.

Long term it would be in Europe's best interest if the US left NATO. It is amazing how they have let their militaries fall to pieces. England ruled the high seas and now they have rusty ships half of which are docked for repairs.
Leaving NATO would force them to at least start rebuilding. The problem is I am not sure even if we left that they would rebuild. I think they believe we would come to their rescue even if we pulled out of NATO. Having said that, pulling out would be the only thing to get them to actually start rebuilding.
It is becoming apparent, most of Europe can't even aid us if they wanted to and I don't see any case going forward where they will even want to help. They need ME oil far more than we need it. It would be in their best interest to help with Hormuz so it is fairly obvious they can't. Not just won't. They can't. They can't risk the few assets they have.
