But NIL and transfer portal are ruining sports. Nobody watches it anymore. The parody doesn't exist. Everybody wants to watch the underdogs, not the big match ups.

Did I miss any ranter talking points?

I have a theory that the ratings don’t necessarily the sports are better. Everything else just sucks so much that people stay busier with sports nowadays.

That’s as far as I’ve gotten with it

where do you idiots come from. There are millions of more people who have access to watching this every year and millions more graduating college every semester. 2019 kicked it's arse so a lot of OG's did quit watching since 2020

I watched because post nil it’s a much better product. The second round picks don’t declare early. Europeans come over and play here.

Football is a different story but it’s quality basketball.

When you look at ratings, Michigan State and Indiana State is still the most watched college basketball game in history.

I mean… that was an incredible game. Plus you had the storyline of UVA trying to finish the job after losing to a 16 seed the year before.

Even more impressive since it was on TBS (cable) instead of the usual CBS (network).

New ratings metrics have increased ratings amongst all media. Propaganda.

If the draw were the teams playing, WTH wasn't any other Michigan game in the top ten, why was only one Arizona game (and that against perennial potential power Perdue) in the top ten?

How many just plain viewers watched a game every opportunity? Or, shudder, is viewership tied to gambling dollars and retroactively predictable by the dollars flowing in betting on the outcomes?

Especially sports. The new Nielsen ratings system and algorithms introduced in September were designed specifically to “more accurately account for sports viewing habits.” All sports have seen a big bump in Nielsen’s ratings.

CBB regular season gains:

• CBS men’s college basketball regular season: up 10%

• Fox men’s college basketball regular season: up 38%

• ESPN men’s college basketball: up 25%

• ESPN women’s college basketball: up 19%
