This was the result of a dick measuring contest taken to its extreme. I seriously do not understand how the idea of bringing a tank to bare was not met with adamant resistance in the decision room.

David Koresh was a horrible person and deserves much blame for the escalation, but why the hell didnt the ATF arrest him on his morning run?

That was all so unnecessary. They could have picked up Koresh on the street at any time.

Janet Reno should have gone to jail. Put this in context 76 people is 63 more than have died fighting Iran. Yet the Dims scream at Trump.

My understanding is that the ATF was up for refunding and wanted to make a show of force to prove their importance. They are widely regarded as the Keystone Kops of federal law enforcement and proved it on that occasion.

Janet Reno was such an incompetent person. Really disliked her.

I think so too. They assumed they would go kick in some doors, arrest the members, save the kids and all be heroes.
They weren't expecting the Branch Davidians to exercise their 2nd amendment rights.

I'd say "Jesus" and his boys made a pretty good accounting of themselves.

History has shown us what a few Texans with guns can do

They planned that raid knowing how reckless it was, all because they were facing budget cuts and needed to make a splash.

President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Janet Reno authorized military weaponry against US citizens exercising their freedom of religion.

11 years ago in Waco the biker shootout occurred with 10 fatalities and 25 wounded. The majority of the fatalities were by 223 rifle bullets and it was the cops that had the rifles. 144 bikers were arrested and held on 1 million dollar bonds for almost a year in jail because it was so large. 1 biker actually went to trial and was aquited. The remained 143 innocent bikers were released without ever going to trial.

The media and government lied their asses off throughout the whole thing. They said they used pepper gas. It was nerve gas. They said Koresh molested kids, but the sheriff's office and CPS investigated and said no. Koresh didn't say he was God. That was a snippet of him joking with his congregation that the media intentionally ran with.

Even the former compound member who said she could feel Koresh's evil insanity - turns out she was a fricking baby when she was there.

They were religious nuts, for sure, but there was no valid reason for the government to gas, snipe and burn them all to death.
