LSU Baseball question

Hey, I’m out of the country until July and have been trying to keep up with the baseball team. Appears wheels came off. Is there still a chance of making the NCAA playoffs? Thanks

Yes there is, but they will have to win 7/8 of the last 12, and not dropping any more midweek games would be a good idea. There isn't a ton of hope that this team can win that many games though.

Agree.
With the midweek losses ball-n-chain we're dragging around we have to get to 13 conference wins to have a chance. We're at 6. That means we have to go (at worst) 7-5 over the next four series. And no more midweek losses.

I’ll just say that you won’t have to worry about when LSU baseball plays or missing a game in June this year.

Though it is unlikely, there is a chance.

Our chance is better that we win the SECT than make it in at-large at this point
13-17 isnt getitng this team in
14-16 probably still wouldnt unless we made a deep SECT run and we would have to go 8-4 rest of way to get there
RPI of 65 right now which is awful
Flat out, we would need at least 1 series sweep IMO (South Carolina stick out) to even be able to think about 8-4 rest of way because theres no way this team will win every series from here on out

We’re 6-12 after being swept 2 weekends in a row. We need to get to 13-17 just to keep hope alive in Hoover by winning a couple more games there to boost RPI and get onto the bubble. LSU being LSU and defending champs should be enough to get a regional bid in that case.
way we look though by the time we get to Hoover our only hope is going to be a miracle of getting an auto bid by winning the SECT.

14-16 probably would imo but I don’t think we finish even close to that. We will probably finish with 10-12 SEC wins and will literally have to win the SECT to make it in the field.

14-16 has always gotten an SEC team but our RPI is in a different universe right now from where all those teams were
Yes our RPI would improve obviously from 65 if we went 8-4 from here on out, the question is exactly how much. Because if it got to 45, we'd probably be left out, if it got to 35, we'd probably be in
But really my point is we would be a pretty unique case probably to any SEC team in the past that finished with 14 conference wins and always got in. Losing 5 Quad 4 games so far is a huge drag down on our RPI. Our RPI only improved from 75 to 65 playing 2 Top 10 RPI teams the last 2 weekends (despite losing all 6 games). South Carolina wont be much of an RPI help.

This team never had wheels. The Flintstones are 100 years ahead of this pitiful group. This team drags a heavy load across the ground and our competitors are using Bobcat Skid Steers.

IDK the numbers, but we've made it in the past at 13-17. UF was 13-17 in '24 and made it to Omaha. OM was 14-16 and 0-1 in Hoover and made it in and won it all.
The other thing working against us is what I will call "SEC fatigue." At some point the committee will say 10 SEC teams are enough. Will we be a top-10 SEC team when the dust settles?
