Interested in seeing how closely they follow The Book of Magic (last book in Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic series).

The CGI for the actresses will be immense.

Looks good. Not sure about the casting for the daughters.

Does Nicole Kidman turn anything down?
Feels like she is in every show and movie lately.

I read the source novel and really enjoyed the first movie. It's one of my yearly Halloween movie watches. My question is this....are they completely throwing out the origin of the Owens curse as established in the novel and the first film? According to both, Maria was the first Owens witch and she was banished to a tiny island off the coast of Massachusetts. The description of the sequel says they are traveling to the U.K. to uncover the source of the curse and their magical powers.

That's a reasonable question. In the book Practical Magic you're given the impression that the curse may have been broken (according to the book that follows, its not) but it's treated more definitively in the movie that it is broken.
So I'm also interested in seeing how they handle that part of it because in the books its still the same curse/origin.
As far as why they travel, in The Book of Magic there is a definitive reason they're traveling (that I can't reveal without spoiling quite a bit).
If you enjoyed the first book, I recommend you read the others. It's a good series and adds quite a bit beyond the movie (especially enjoy the prequel about the aunts).

I was working at Blockbuster when the first movie came out on video. I remember it being really popular.
I liked the movie well enough.
I had no idea until I read this that it was based off a novel.

Didn’t see the first one until recently. Wife and I will definitely watch this.
