Left my phone in a cab last night and I didn't have the back up, I have tmobile and the family sharing said it was at this military base

in the end, the taxi guy called back and I luckily got my phone back! I now know how to utilize the phone tracker on icloud.

Yep. I've done that before. Left it at a bar. Had to go back to get it that night. It was still on the table.

I got drunk and threw my phone at my couch one night when I walked in the door and it slid under it. Spent the day locking it on Find my iPhone and then found it when I moved the couch to clean that afternoon.

Left mine in a cooler that got stollen in Gulf Shores. Looked it up on findmyiphone and sent a message saying the cops were going to the destination where the cooler was at and if they dropped it off, no harm no foul. An old couple said they picked it up on the middle of the beach after some kids left it. They read the message, called the cops, and he returned it to me at the address I sent in the message. Very lucky.

I use find my iPhone to play a sound pretty often

My phone stays on silent and I lose it inside the house pretty often because the kids take it and misplace it

I found it in a field one time too when I dropped it while hunting

I Think I lose my T.V. remote at least twice a week. I always look under the couch and it is never there

I left it at chic fil a once, logged in saw it was there and drove back. By the time I returned someone has swiped it.

Used my wife's phone to track the thieves to this shitty strip mall on the north side of Houston.

Took forever to find it, finally went into this Chinese buffet and heard it beep when i pinged it.

Turned out is was this Hispanic couple in their 60s who stole it.

She tried to deny it at first, but as I pinged it over and over and the beep was coming from her purse she finally pulled it out and gave it to me.

The entire restaurant was staring in disappointment.

Friend of mine set his on the roof of his car at a gas station and didn't think about it until he was way down the road. Tracked it down and found it sitting in the middle of the highway.

yeah that is pretty awesome that you can make it play a sound, will definitely use that method if I misplace it in the house.

I left my phone on top of my car when I got gas one day and when I got home it instantly hit me what I did. somehow the phone stayed on the roof of the car. So crazy it was like a 15 mile drive, I went over a bridge and everything.

If you can make your phone ping remotely, think of what others can do with it.

Some of these tracking things give crazy results sometimes. I once tried to find my location. Said I was in Wisconsin. I was in Arizona.

true, I don't understand why the tmobile sharing said my phone was at this AFB when the taxi driver said that he had not been that way.

Probably had something to do with the tower it was using at that time.

Used it this morning. Left it in an uber, he went to pick up other people from the same party and gave it to the hosts. When I first opened it on my laptop it showed in was a few blocks away from the party location, kinda ghetto area. Would you go into the ghetto to try to retrieve your phone? Something tells me NOPD wouldn't have been much help if that was the case

A family friend's kid had his stolen at a football game. Private school in Metairie was playing a public school from a not-so-good part of New Orleans.

iPhone was taken out of his bag. Friend tracked his kid's phone down to a house in the ninth ward, NOPD went with him and they eventually got it back.
