New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said this morning he could get into politics after his playing career ends.
The Super Bowl XLIV MVP joined Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt on "Fox & Friends" in Houston, where Super Bowl LI will be played on Sunday.
"I'm not ruling it out. It's not the first thing I'm gonna do after I step away from the game, but I will certainly give it consideration," he said.
On the topic of NFL and politics, don't you find it somewhat odd that the racial divide politically in the league is just as stark as in the general population?
One would think NFL blacks would at least be a little less democrat than the general black population simply because their incomes are so much higher, and income is a statistically significant determinant of political views.

I'd vote for him. He seems to be a stand up guy with a good head on his shoulders. Wouldn't mind hearing what he has to say.

He's more accurate when he throws to the right side....

I wonder if he's been influenced by his flaming liberal head coach

What is with this perception that democrats are poorer than republicans?
Wasnt there a chart that stated that it was pretty equal if not slight edge to democrats?

He'd end up being disgusted by New Orleans within a month on the job.

I can see it already - A Brees/Brady ticket in 2032

Could even Brees get elected mayor of NO as a Republican?

Is there any data out there addressing this? The vocal black athletes lean mostly left but that doesn't mean there aren't others who find it easier to hold their tongues.

the pastors would be calling him racist within hours of the checks being deposited.

He'd be better than Mitch almost by default

Good. I'm damn tired of seeing the UCC trampled on in New Orleans. The current guys in politics lack fundamental understanding of UCC-207

A ESPN poll from last year had NFL black support for hillary at 90% and white support for trump at 70%

If Drew Brees gave me $20 and asked me to mow his lawn, is that a unilateral or bilateral contract?

I hope he goes in as a Democrat. Then I can look forward to the idiots on this website turning on him quickly. Calling him a washed up QB who should have stuck to coaching or something.

Carl Edwards is doing the same after he retires this year.

Well, considering that my ancestors were Native American (I have a little Cherokee blood myself), that would be an offer I'd have to reject... Unless you assured me I would be paid in something other than a $20 bill.

Overall on the NFL , the black guys tend to be Democrats, however, there is a sizeable amount of older black guys who are all-pros, etc. who have been in the league for 10 + years that tend to be conservative. I know Rodney Harrison tends that way, Lynn Swann comes to mind and some others.
