Are there any other sod companies in the Baton Rouge area other than Woener or Quality Sod that anyone here would recommend? And is it too late to lay sod even if it's watered vigorously every morning/afternoon?

I laid some two weeks ago. Was able to mow it yesterday. It's doing great.

Just water more than you think you should. Really wet it. I watered my with an impact sprinkler 3 or 4 hours a day the first two weeks. Water every day until you can't pick up the pieces up anymore because roots have taken. After that water about an inch every 3 or 4 day.

It's is the perfect time of year to lay any of the warm season grasses.

Eliser Turf Farm off of hwy 621 in Ascension. He has St Aug/Centipede mix that he cuts to order, but you roll and stack. I called him and he said he cuts it in 1'x9' sections. He is cheaper, but it requires more work on your part.

Kelley sod is between Zachary and Clinton. If you are hailing make sure your truck and trailer are up to the task. Sod is extremely heavy.

Citica you got experience with him? That's seconds away from my house. Would be perfect for me. There's no website or Facebook or anything. I've passed by that place every day and wondered if he had legit sod.

Had my garden home's front and side yards crappy turf removed, then had the soil tilled and regraded, then a layer of sand and then St. Aug laid out in March.

It's been absolutely fantastic. Used Los Lawn Hermanos. Took an evening and a morning for them. Several pallets, labor and a bobcat for about $1,300. Well worth it.

Yeah we're not far from each other if I remember correctly.

Not personally, during the early stretch of all our rain this year I called him. He said it was too wet to cut. One of the guys at work has used him in the past. I ended up calling Woerner and they had centipede. I think it was under half the cost for a full pallett, ~$90.
