We already knew this but it's a good read nonetheless

According to Football Outsiders, the Saints’ offensive line is No. 1 in run blocking and No. 3 in pass protection. Brees has been sacked a league-low eight times this season despite playing behind five different starting line combinations in nine games, and seeing his starting right tackle, Zach Strief, head to injured reserve after Week 4.

"It’s just accountability that all the guys take upon themselves,” veteran guard Larry Warford says. “We don’t have two-deep or three-deep not knowing what to do or how we block. Everybody knows what to do and we have great players. I feel like anyone in that room can start on any team, to be honest

What's amazing is this line is extremely young. Throw out Unger and the average age is just under 25 years old. Throw in Unger and it is 26, but he is 31.

Football is always about the LOS. It's no surprise the best Saints O-lines were in 2009 and 2011.

I remember as a kids in the 70s the Saints had an awful OL (with a few exceptions) and secondary. The fact that this team is great at both positions makes them so much fun to watch.

And they finally started doing something about it and it helped turn the team around. So...

It should be no surprise we have the best line.

Over the last few years we have decoted premium off-season assets to building it. High draft picks, big free agent signings, and trades.

I remember when the big discussion here was do we keep Colstom or do we keep Nicks. Couldn’t keep both. I love Colston but this shows how much more important Nicks was

We were never keeping Nicks for precisely the same reason we shouldn't have kept Grant.

They thought he would take the money and loaf, as he showed that tendency prior to our SB run. I don't remember if he was benched or about to be benched because he kept slacking off at practice.

Not saying it was right or wrong, just the reason why.

And yeah we have invested heavy since 2013:

Armstead- 3rd
Peat- 1st
Unger- traded away a very good TE
Warford- big money FA
Ramcyzk- 1st

I think we need to invest another top 3 round pick this year. Armstead may be young, but his body doesn’t seem to be. To Keep this running game and D going, we need to keep a great OL.

You can always get a relatively cheap Ted Ginn type in FA. OL and front 7 this years draft.

Yeah there's a real possibility we move on from Strief, and someone may pay Kelemete big money (but retaining him would be huge).

Definitely need to keep investing because if we lose Strief and Kelemete we lose most of our depth.

LeRibeus at least looks to be a decent guard but I think he may only be on a one year deal. Looks like they may be grooming that Tom fellow as an eventual Unger replacement, but we don't really have any depth at tackle if we lose Strief and Kelemete. Peat can kick to LT but that puts us thin everywhere else.
