Possibly historical fiction, but a book about some cool criminal stuff. Whether it be like hedge fund scams, or mob killing, just a good read about some real crime.

Check out Killers of the Flower Moon. It is about the early days of the FBI, and the investigation on the Osage murders of Oklahoma in the early 1920s.

Another good one is And the Dead Shall Rise: The Murder of Mary Phagan and the Lynching of Leo Frank. It talks about the investigation of the murder of a young girl who worked at a pencil factory in Atlanta and the circumstances that led to her accused killer being lynched.

Yes. Killers of the Flower Moon is really good.

If you want some historical crime fiction, I thought The Alienist was great as well.

Manhunt by James Swanson

About the search for John Wilkes Booth and his cohorts after the assassination.

Did not think I would enjoy this as much as I did.

The Other Hollywood is about porn and eventually the Mafia plus some good bits about undercover investigations.

I don't remember the name of the book, but it was about the FBI agent who was working the Green River Killer case and he interviewed Ted Bundy trying to get some insight. Been a few years but it was very interesting read.

Black Mass was good. Didn't see the movie but it was mob stuff in Boston.

Malice in Wonderland is about John Holmes and the murder of some drug dealers in Los Angeles. I haven't read the book but know the story and listened to a really good limited series podcast about it.

It may be Mindhunter by John Davis.

He started the profile technique in solving crimes.

Very good book.

I’ll be gone in the night. Crazy book about the hunt for the Golden State Killer who was a scary son of a bitch. They just captured him so it had closure that isn’t there for a lot of the famous serial killers.
