Overheard a debate about the POTUS

My wife and I celebrated 17 years of marriage this past weekend and stumbled upon an interesting debate. While we were waiting, three couples were together waiting on a table and were basically at odds over who's president Trump was for. I quickly figured out two couples were righties and the other couple was a lefty. The lefty couple said they didn't vote for him so he wasn't there president. The two righties said they didn't vote for Obama and didn't support him as there president so it felt good to have a president that they voted for.
Whether or not you vote for someone and they win, do they get your support? Although I didn't vote for or even support Obama, as an American and as reluctant as it is to say this he was still my president. I was curious to see what the board felt about this.

Just because you say or don't say something does not affect the truth.
I would love to say Bama sucks at football, but no matter how much I say it they are pretty good.
So yes, Obama and Trump were / are the president.

No matter the President, I support the USA. I always try to give a president the benefit of the doubt. It lasted a few months with Obama. Trump has delivered.
ETA: present --> president
Autocorrect fail.

Donald Trump is the President of the United States.
He was elected in a free and fair vote.
It doesn't matter a damn bit what anyone feels.
It is a fact.
Whether someone supports or accepts is completely irrelevant to anyone but that individual.
Next year we vote again. Whoever wins will be President, everyone's President.

I think this board had a lot of "not my president" going on.
Which is a retarded position.

Mixed feelings on this.
Yes, The President is everyone's President. But, I appreciate citizens who don't just take the President's word for law. Too much of that under Obama. People just acted like his word was gospel truth. The President should be questioned

The big difference between dems and repubs is that the right genuinely wanted obama to have success. We prayed for him, we celebrated when bin laden was killed, we wanted to work with him on issues where there was common non-ideological grounds.
We opposed his ideas because we thought they were bad for country
Dems oppose trump because they want him to not get any legislative wins
They want a recession. They want foreign policy setbacks.
Mexico is doing more to help trump on border than they are.
They furiously masturbated their penile shafts raw when Charlottesville happened. It was Christmas morning when that girl died.
They won’t even pass the new nafta deal even though Canada abd Mexico have

I very much disliked Obama but he was still the leader of our country, agree with him or not.
Same with Bill Clinton.
This whole "not my President" bullshite is both unpatriotic and insanely childish. Democracy means sometimes, you do not get what you want. Suck it up and accept it. We can grow as a country if we stop acting like children.

When flying on a plane, i root for the pilot. I hated Obama, but supported him and wished he did good things for the country. He didn’t, which was a blessing because that’s why trump was elected

Well its kinda like the women's soccer player who kneels before the match.. no matter how much she kneels, Trump is still the POTUS, amirite? MAGA, MAGA, MAGA!

I like the analogy of the pilot of our plane. I don’t have to like a president to love our country. during the Obama years, I pretty much didn’t watch the news or anything that He was tied to.
