I think he’s a flex play now.

I see McCoy as a like for like backup to Williams. Carlos Hyde didn’t get cut for being a bad runner, he got cut bc he can’t catch. Darwin is probably very raw at this point still, I doubt he would be able to take over passing down duties if Williams got hurt. McCoy is someone who can come in and take over on passing downs if anything happens to williams. He may take some touches away from Williams, but Williams will still get 15 or so a game
