Saw on Fox Business that 44% of 24 year olds in America have $700 or less in their bank account.

Wonder how you guys compared at that age.

A few thousand at most. I should have had way more. Went offshore at 18 and lived with my parents until I was 20. Lifted trucks, 4 wheelers, and parting ate up most of the money I made from 1999 to 2005. I was the 50,000 dolllar millionaire living in Scottsdale and Tempie Arizona from 2001 to 2005.

You mean your parents paid for everything and you had no debt because your parents paid for everything?

I mean...it depends on the time of year. I didn't have much savings. When I did get savings, I'd buy something. I owned a house at age 23. I needed a car by age 26. I went to grad school at 29. And all three of those decisions were fricking stupid at least when it came to money.

I didn't learn how to save until my 30s. Unfortunately, that's not uncommon. And in reality, I bet most people don't ever learn how to save on their own.

You clearly paid no bills if you accumulated 50k while working in college, scholarship or not. Sounds like your parents handed you a pile of cash everytime you came home for the weekend.

Some of us actually have to work hard for our money. It’s annoying af when people like you brag about your accomplishments when you did nothing to earn it.

Currently 24. Even in college when I was working I kept 7000+

Now I’ve got a pretty good job (for now). Worried about the election being in oil. But I keep 20000+ in savings and 2000 in checkings . Kept that in there until the market fell and I put a lot in. Plan to do the same if it falls again.

Probably $500 after I paid bills. About $40 left the day before payday.

Absolutely this. And I would venture to say if this wasn’t you, you wasted your youth. But to each his own I suppose

I was still in law school, so somewhere between broke and tens of thousands of dollars, depending on what part of the semester we were in and when the loans hit
