Galveston

Family beach trip. We were going to rent a house in Fort Morgan but it got cancelled at the last minute so we’re scrambling. How is Galveston? The beach, the ppl, the non-beach entertainment, the restaurants, etc. I know zero about it. Can anyone help me out?

The beach isn’t all that great, but the town is charming and the Pleasure Pier is fun. I find the hotels to be overpriced for what you get. Def try AirBNB.

If you like dark brown, greasy sand beaches lined with slow walking fatties...you’re going to love Galveston.

Going in two weeks with kids just to go somewhere different. Not too interested in the beach, we’ll probably do Moody Gardens, the pleasure pier and schlitterbahn.

Would avoid.
Anywhere from Gulf Shores to Perdido Key blows doors on it. Even Panama City or Corpus is better. The only thing it had going for it was palm trees and they all died in the freeze.

We just returned home from a week in a BnB on Bolivar Penisular near Galveston. As other posters have said, the sand looks muddy. Heavy vehicular traffic on this part of the beach. Beaches hardly better than Holly Beach.

The beaches are disgusting. Everything else is fine. But do not go to spend time on the beach.

I don’t get how people spend money to go to Galveston beach. I’d rather just sit at a muddy lake
It sucks because I really like Galveston as a town. You could spend a couple days just doing activities around Galveston but unfortunately the beach sucks.
