Is the Ryder Cup a "big deal" to you?

It just seems that the US players, and a growing number of fans, are just not excited about the Ryder Cup. Maybe Koepka's sentiments are in the minority but, unlike recent Cups, I just don't see the buzz. Maybe it's because we keep getting throttled by the Euros.

Where does the Ryder Cup rank in Golf importance?
Less than Major, but more than Tour Event?

I love golf, and watch a good amount of golf throughout the year. Even early thursday and friday coverage on pga tour live. But once football season starts, it's hard for me to keep watching. I will still watch the ryder cup, but if it was in the summer I would be all in.

I wonder if that is the same for other Americans

I would agree with this, and especially true about the football season. I do not watch golf when college football is on but will watch it on Sunday afternoons.

I am extremely excited for this. I can watch football any weekend in the fall. I can watch the Ryder cup one weekend every 2 years (3 years in this case). For me, the Ryder Cup is above every single golf tournament. I'm sure that's not the case for the players, but it is for my enjoyment. Watching the 2016 Cup was the most fun I've ever had watching golf.

Duh, I didn't think about this. Although this year, it might be easier to skip LSU games for golf!
I know it would be challenging to do in the middle of the season, but would it be better received if it was in July or August?

With politics invading every ounce of our lives, I'm just not very excited about sports at all.

In the past, I was always super jacked for Ryder Cups

I am very excited for the Ryder Cup every time.

Our Countries best against Europe's best. I have always been full of USA pride.

Golf is the one sport that politics hasn't ruined yet.

That's why I wished that Patrick Reed was on the team instead of Kopeka. With all of his faults Reed wants to represent our Country every time. I respect that.

USA USA USA !

Very big deal!! History, tradition!! One of the greatest sporting events not yet infected with all the anti American crap happening in sports today.

I'm with you. So far, Golf is the one escape from political statements and woke crap.
I like the fact that it is usually played at a non-Tour venue. Valhalla. Brookline. Whistling Straits.

I wish that Wilco Nieaber would have made the European Team.

It would have been a blast watching him and Bryson go head to head pounding the ball.

Ryder Cup is possibly my favorite event in sports. The passion and energy is just so fun to watch. I’m so excited for this event. I love football and will watch it but will mostly be locked in to the golf.

Do you think Bryson's hands will be an issue?
I was very disappointed that he made Long Drive a priority over Ryder Cup prep.

Bigger than most tournaments. Not bigger than any major. Golf is an individual sport. It’s fun to turn it into teams but just like the olympics, the representation is funny. I consider rahm to be an American.

I'm really excited but have no expectations. We're still over a week out so maybe the "attitude" will change. If the crowd brings the pain it'll be really entertaining. Anybody know attendance estimates?

This fact is part of the reason why we struggle in the EC. Europe picks courses they play ever let year and they have a significant advantage.

What is the world could he have done to his hands ?

I did the Senior ReMax for 2 years, I used heavy cord grips and never had an issue...

If he is gripping the club that hard, can't imagine him getting a full release.

Yep, I'll watch the LSU game next Saturday, but other than that, football is taking a back seat to the Ryder Cup.

I read the article below. Apparently, he just has calluses. His hands are in no way "wrecked"

Yep, attention. Also a built in excuse when this thing goes sideways next week.
I hope not.
