This is a conversation I had with some of my golf buddies this weekend. If you could play golf with any athlete who isn’t a professional golfer who would it be?

I thought about Michael Jordan but he is way too competitive and gambles big money every hole. I’m way outside of my lane being around him. I would love to meet the GOAT but on the links wouldn’t be ideal. I would love to play a round with Charles Barkley. He is freaking hilarious on the course and a national treasure.

Probably a pitcher or a Placekicker.

These guys are good at process and there are some good golfers among them.

Al Del Greco would be my choice. He’s close to me in age and would not gripe about not playing the tips. He’s a good golfer.

Larry Fitzgerald, he's just a classy guy that looks like he'd be fun to be around. But if the question were which famous person would I like to play a round of golf with, Bill Murray without a doubt.

I was a teaching pro at an Atlanta area country club in the mid to late 90s. Got to be friends with Tim Ecclestone, ex- Atlanta Flame (NHL) who owned a sports bar around the corner from where I worked. Through him, I met (and hosted) several Atlanta athletes/personalities at my club on Tuesdays when we were closed to the membership.

Just a few names-
Brad Clontz
Jeff Blauser
Tom Glavine
John Smoltz
Greg Maddux
Chipper Jones
Mookie Blaylock
Brad Nessler

I played the back nine of one of the Disney courses in Orlando with Brett Farve and one of his buddies from the Sip back around 2000. We were there for a Spring convention playing one afternoon and he actually caught me and my buddy on 10 and they asked if they could join us. I mean how do you refuse Brett Farve when he asks if you want to make a foursome? He’s way laid back but I kinda knew that since I actually worked with a guy from Kiln that was one of his running buddies growing up so that helped to break the ice.

A neighbor and I went to play a afternoon round at Greatwood and the Pro Shop said that they were putting 2 guys with us.

It was Pippen who lived in Greatwood at the time and Barkley who live in New Territory.

It was a hoot. They were both terrible and they were betting 50 bucks a hole. Pippen barely won.

Never forget Pippens clubs.

Wilson irons they were an inch and a half long with 4 wraps under Green Jumbo Victory grips andthey were heavy as hell.

My neighbor has a special needs son who is a sports nut and they both signed long personal autographs to him.

Unfortunately that was before cell phone cameras.

If we can include retired ones, Pat Mcafee would be a great pick. Peyton Manning also. Adrian Beltre. Jose Altuve. Justin Verlander.

Alicia Schmidt — don’t know if she plays golf, but I would not mind watching her swing a club 200 times if it takes her that many shots.

Yes it was a blast.

My Neighbors son was born without an esophagus and is now 30 years old. He has never tasted food or drink in his life because of a trach in his throat.

He spent the first two years of his life in Texas Children's hospital and had 38 surgeries.

We call him the 3 million dollar man.

He is fed through a port in his stomach every night by a machine. They moved up to the Pittsburg area because the Texas heat was too much for him since he cant get dehydrated and they have family there.

All efforts to build him a esophagus has failed.

I forgot to mention that he sent Barkley a thank you note and Barkley sent him back a signed jersey and Basketball.
