That’s because it is. Starbucks over roasts their beans for consistency and they realize 95% of their customers don’t drink coffee, they drink milkshake flavored coffee so no one notices they’re actual coffee is shite

Blonde roast or nothing for me at Starbucks. Only thing that isn't burnt to hell. I'd rather a Starbucks Tripleshot drink in a can over most of the stuff on their menu.

Also, I've learned that getting an iced americano (espresso shots + ice) is much better than a regular iced coffee most places. That way the melted ice waters it down to a normal strength coffee instead of watering regular coffee down to ditch water. It also prevents them from giving you a splash of cold brew concentrate and filling the rest with water (looking at you CCs).

Isn't an americano just espresso plus water?

Yes. Back in WWII when Americans were stationed in Italy they didn't like the taste of straight up espresso. They wanted something similar to drip coffee, so the Americano was made. It's generally 1:2 or 1:3 espresso and hot water.

Understood. Guess I'll throw in quotes to make it iced "Americano".

Second this. I haven't been to 7Brew, but Starbucks cold brew just isn't anywhere near as good as CC's to me.

Someone was just raving about 7Brew last night though, and she told me they have way more sugar free options than most places. That appeals to me enough to want to try it, granted it is way on the other side of town.

They have lots of sweetness options for their signature drinks. You can get sweetness by quarter and half or do sugar free.

Reve, City Roots, and Highland Coffee (as pretentious as that place is, they make good coffee)

Edit: and people that claim 7 Brew is good need their taste buds checked, or have an actual decent coffee for once

I think there’s only two in the area, one in Gonzales and one on Essen Lane.

They are opening a 7Brew on Lee and Burbank by the McDonald’s. They are also going to open a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts right near there too.

That's not exactly a high bar to overcome. I've had very few coffee brands in my life that DID NOT taste better than Starbucks. I've never confirmed it, but I would imagine drinking the remnants of an ashtray would taste similar to Starbucks. If Starbucks is your baseline you aren't selling many people on 7 Brew

Is only better than Folgers. Congrats?

Enjoy the coffee you like. 7Brew has really great ice coffee recipes. They're super fast and friendly. They're a great place to do business with.
