I still have the Little Black Sambo book from when I ate there as a kid.

What year is this? Denny’s is opening up new restaurants?

Much like IHOP, there was a time it was a good breakfast place, but that time has passed.
Surprisingly, IHOP appears to be making a comeback.

There was one right outside my apartment in Dallas. I lived there for two years and never even thought about walking over to eat - and I was drunk plenty of times.
That’s how bad I expect it to be.

I ate at one in Pensacola about 15 years ago on a business trip. I was surprised that the only bacon and sausage options were turkey bacon and turkey sausage. Haven’t been back since.

I eat there once a year so I can cash in my birthday meal. It has been a tradition I have with some friends to go on a Tuesday because kids eat free.
Pancakes are pretty good. Overall, nothing special though.

A handful of times in high school back in the 90s.
But. I raised myself on Waffle House, though.

In a lot of places, they are chronically understaffed. The best Denny’s I’ve been to are on the Vegas strip.

The patty melt was legit but I don’t think they make it anymore.
A grand slam always hits.

Have eaten a few times at Denny's. Mostly breakfast stuff, straightforward. No complaints.
Had a burger and onion rings at one on Fry. Rd and 99. Exceeded expectations. Again, no complaints.
Have never eaten at Waffle House.

We used to eat there regularly. They had these skillet breakfast meals that were legit. Haven’t been in a year or so, after a long break prior. Last meal there was problematic, place was understaffed and dirty. Customer base reflected the decline. Can’t see any reason to go back.

We eat at the one in Bossier about once a month. Usually take my grandson. He loves the chocolate chip pancakes.
Is it going to be the best breakfast you ever had..no, but overall I think it’s pretty good and value priced compare to IHOP, Another Broken Egg, or local diners like Strawns
I’m sure it varies by location but we have never had bad service at the Bossier location and honestly this is one of the main reasons we go there when we want breakfast.
If we aren’t going there, we usually do Another Broken Egg.
