It’s not a king cake, they just call it that because it is a circle/oval and resembles the shape. It’s basically just a boudin stuffed bread. It is dam good though.
Agreed….the one I had had some kind of jalapeño sauce drizzled over it. I wasn’t crazy about it, but I could see where some people would like it.

Yep, just a dumb, mediocre creation. Ain’t nobody wants a savory king cake, especially w/ Boudin

Supper club makes a great one.
Is this where the movers and shakers get their king cakes?

I like boudin so much I’d eat it in king cake form.

Just saw a video this morning with those two Cajun women making one. Seemed pretty easy. Crescent rolls, boudin, cheese, and some pepper jelly is about all you need other than the egg wash they put on the rolls before baking.
Sounds so pointless I just might try making it. Minus the pepper jelly.

Normally, a drizzle of steens syrup and/or topped with pepper jelly. And, drum roll, topped with some cracklin crumbs!

I am a boudin purist. This is an abomination.
OP, just make it yourself with crescent rolls, they have the crescent roll sheets now its pretty idiot proof
