I’m not sure of the hate either. If they don’t mess with the other beers, and Oyster City makes it’s way to the brewery and Nola, I’d call that a win?
Also, the brewery is right of the interstate, and you go through an industrial section. I’ve never felt anxious, and the facility and space is great for kids/family. They have some decent live music, and great place to let the kids run around and hang out outside.
I live in LV, and have gone there on nice days a good amount in the past. Beer isn’t great, but is no worse than half the brews out there. Being in the East sounds scary, but it’s not the case here.
agreed and accurate on all counts. It's not like the brewery is in the middle of Nola East and their campus is outstanding. Bringing in some good beer is a win win.

Oyster City is indeed a great brewery. Hooter at 8.5 is as drinkable a brown as you'll find. And Fermentus Interruptus is a surprisingly good pick considering it is the only hazy they have made.

I do wish Faubourg was in the core of the city. But you can get there in 15 minutes easy from most of uptown and its an awesome layout, easily the most family-friendly of all the local breweries when the weather is nice.

TD POSTERS-"The East sucks. There is no business there worth visiting."
SAME TD POSTERS-"That sounds like a business I'd frequent, if it wasn't in the East."

Their beer sucks, always has. the only thing they had going for them was a cool and historical name.
and you two are delusional if you think it's not that scary out there.

I've had some of their beers - they were fine. Was it Treehouse or Trillium or whatever? No - but it was fine. I was last out there in June and had 3 or 4 things that I would drink again.
Their "craft" offerings have been equal or better beers than most of what Second Line and Port Orleans offers.
And despite being in the east, I like their space out there.
I welcome the expansion AND I welcome the desire to bring a macro-craft brewery to the area.

Palmetto isn't bad when I had them in Charleston

lol - the East has always been scary

The east is bad, while the brewery is in the east, the specific location is not. It’s in an industrial area and you don’t have to go through any neighborhoods. But you know, let’s just make things up.
I get it, New Orleans is in a bad place right now, but the brewery is a pretty good place to have a beer and spend a fall afternoon. If buying 50% of Oyster City adds to the beer selection there and in stores, I’m for it.
It’s no fun being a miserable person. Give it up.

Their brewery is awesome, nice place to grab a bite and a pint but their beer sucks.
Turns out Fauburg is a delicacy in certain southeast destinations. I was in BHM on business a year back and the bartender told me people love it and pay a premium.
For real??? That stuff is p*** water.

Sure, let's just ignore that 20 people have been shot on the interstate this year, almost all just west of the high rise, with 7 of those happening in broad daylight.
I get what you're saying that it's not really in a terrible location, and you don't have to drive down a road like Chef Hwy to get there, but that's just someone from New Orleans trying to put lipstick on a pig.
I"m not a miserable person. I enjoy life, and spend it in places where i don't have to worry about a bunch of pieces of shite settling an argument with guns while i'm nearby.

Its a great venue for groups or families. We have taken the kids on Saturdays when not much is going on. They always have concerts, food, events, etc. I frequent several places in the east for work and I can assure you there's a much different vibe in the area of the brewery compared to other areas.

Is there some contradiction here I’m not catching? Seems pretty consistent.

I think a lot of posters shite on Faubourg because of the name change, but I like their beers. My favorites have been blackened voodoo, beignet au lait, and bayou king.

It's because they pandered. Nothing was wrong with the name "Dixie"
Black people didn't care and a piece of New Orleans history was thrown in the trash to appease a few who couldn't care less to begin with.
I personally won't buy "Faubourg" because it only supports people like Gayle who choose to pander and appease a few commies

Pandering to fight pandering.
Edit: Curious, what are your beer brands of choice?
