It can be hard to find, but Bohemia is my favorite. Modelo is a decent substitute.

Seventh Tap in Shreveport makes Don Pablo, a Mexican style that is really good. They can it, and I see it in stores around here, but I'm not sure how widely they distribute in the rest of the state.

When I’m actually in Mexico, I almost exclusively drink Sol. I’m also a fan of Pacifico, and Dos Equis (green).

Nothing like shooting a little tequila on a Mexican beach, grabbing an ice cold Sol and hopping in the water.

Something about a XX draft in a frozen mug with a lime really gets my juices flowing.

Modelo Especial and it's not even close. Iced downed for a few hours, ice cold straight out the bottle.

I have had some skunky ones in a can.

That's weird. Canned beer should not be skunky, ever.

Good beer gone bad

By the way, stale doesn’t mean skunk. As I mentioned, the skunky smell in beer comes from damage to hops caused by light exposure. Unless the brewer has the technology to make their hops light stable, don’t buy beer in a clear bottle. Green bottles are better, and deep brown bottles – and cans – are the best.
