Between 12:30 and 3, there were excessive lines for the tickets and drinks. After 3 or so it got better.
I still had a great time and I can always find ways to enjoy myself.
However I knew several people who were not happy.

Stop whining. It wasn't bad at all

FWIW, Hogs' twitter account acknowledged the problem, apologized and stated that steps would be taken to cure it next year. They are good guys, and I'm certain it will be corrected.

Even with all the issues it was still a great event for a great cause. This was my first year going but it's in my permanent festival rotation now.

all in all we hadd a great time, and ate a lot of great bbq. They only place we had that was terrible was the one serving the "dinosaur rib" or whatever down that congested path by the capital one stage. It was tough as shite.
Best thing I had was the bacon chocolate bread pudding. Jesus it was a heart attack but absolutely delicious.

Same here. I enjoyed the food and the competitiveness from the teams. Drink lines got long right around 2:30-3. With some tweaking I'm sure it could improve.
Best thing I had was the ribs at "stand up and snout".

My brother in law was on the Porkin Gently team. That was the team made up from the Company Burger and Cowbell people. They had what they called a "Boarchetta" sandwich. It was pork belly stuffed with andouille and wrapped in bacon. The put it on a ciabatta bun and topped it with a cilantro slaw. It was my favorite thing out there today. I also enjoyed the Hupig's pork pie too.

They'll find the happy medium between this year and last year. Killer event BO.

Great day and had my fill of pig. Great cause too. Ben Serrat (namesake for the main award) was a special kid and got us involved in the cause. They'll sort out the beverage issues I'm sure. A quick walk and I found a beer booth at the end on Wisner with a guy selling out the side with hardly and line and stocked up for the day.

Folks. Thanks for coming out. We all really appreciate it. We totally understand we did not have enough bars or ticket booths and that we should have done a better job explaining the situation.
But thank you all to who came out and helped us help some families.
We know we need to get better. And trust me we will.
But Pat M'fin Green

My Hopzilla/ICS rotation caught up to me there in the end. Who won?
I was so dissapointed to hear the word tickets for this year. There was a few hours of suck. Having two different tickets didn't help the issue. Next year y'all should sell soft sided coolers full of beers.
The bottle neck by the tent with the stage also sucked for a few hours. Sure the conditions didn't help. Kids free thing is cool but y'all should charge $50 a stroller.
Really liked that War Pigs had a Pho Que Bowl. Great idea. I loved how the Stand and Stout guys served up their whole hog. Company Burger more Cowbell's ribs were the best BBQ item I recall having. Also don't remember the team but whoever put the tortellini in their crawfish boil Friday night thank you. I will be doing that next boil.
Had a great time only regret is not wearing sunblock.

plus one on the cowbell/company burger bbq. they had the best ribs i had all day. A close second was Fat Buddies and Beers Fly When Pigs Die.
Swine Spectators had some of the best crackiins i've ever had.
The pork cannoli was delicious from Hogjammin.
The most sinful thing I ate all day was the Chocolate Bacon Bread Pudding from I Like Pig Butts And I Cannot Lie, which is the team from the JW Marriot.
All in all good fun despite the lines and mud. Will do again next year.

Judging was amazing. I haven't had a chance to upload any of my pictures yet but I'll post back soon with some pictures of all the delicious stuff I got to judge. So good. Judging was a really cool thing to do. So much fun that I'm considering joining something like the Memphis Barbecue Network so that I can go to other events and do the same.
As for the lines for booze. I think a lot of people didn't realize that you could go to any part of the booth to get beer. Everybody was lined up on the very left side of the beer booths where the beer prices were. There was rarely anybody in line at the middle of the booth where the tea and coffee was but if you went to that part of the booth you could still buy beer.
